Can we talk about what the real issue will be? Trying to get that embroidered on the back of the hats?

The op came back and posted later in the thread that she did hire a professional.Hi there. Pro photographer here. Not going to read through all the comments here but I will say a few things...
Both photographs are taken in manual mode, not auto. The Disney photographers are using their camera in auto (meaning they click the pic and nothing more). Auto means you are adjusting your ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture (depth of field) and other things.
Also both pictures are not post processed (meaning made blurry in photoshop) they were done in camera. Meaning the photographer used a wide aperture.
No way is there going to be a Disney photographer that can take that style of photograph.
Hire a pro photographer if you want images like that taken in Disney.
Doesn't The Chapeau do embroidery on the hats, why couldn't they do it? If not, it could easily be photoshopped in afterward.
I've had lots of issues with my local Walmart not wanting to print any pics I've taken with obvious Disney icons (like the castle) or characters in them. They lost 100% of my photo business; I use Costco or Shutterfly now. That's crazy, then how is anyone ever suppose to be able to have their WDW vacation photos printed or made into calendars, or on a mug, etc... if they won't print things that have a Mickey on it?
(I'm not saying I do not believe that happened to you, I just don't understand it.) I've never gotten anything done at either place.

Yep, I've made many Shutterfly products with my Disney photos without a hitch. Waiting for my new 11x14 Alaska book (not Disney) to arrive hopefully tomorrow!!!Wow. I use shutterfly for all my books and photos, and knock wood, I've never had a problem. Hope I don't start. I've made 6 Disney photo books, mugs & a travel mug, as well as many photos.
They only embroider names
There was a funny book written by an ex Photopass photographer. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that wants to keep the illusion of a perfect Magical WDW. It is a little raunchy.
Not to drag one specific point out here, but since when did cheap camera equal amateur? Or vis versa? Professionals only buy gear that will make them money and give them a competitive edge - this often means high end equipment, as it's designed to be more flexible, higher in quality, have more accessible controls, and generally make their life easier, but there are plenty of pros who make their living off of pictures taken with anything from a mid to high end point and shoot to entry level DSLRs with some pretty basic lenses; I've seen pros even using Nikon 1 gear! They have cheap cameras (compared to any professional).
You've piqued my interest. Can you tell me the name of the author or book?

I believe it is called Cast member confidential by Chris Mitchell.
Agreed - we had our anniversary embroidered on ours at the hat shop on Main Street. They were happy to do it and offered us the choice between "/" and "-" for the dates.I've seen many hats with more than just names.
So I just got a call that Chapman got a letter this week from Disney stating he is no longer allowed to shoot in the parks and if he continues he will be banned.
Anyone else I can contact who can shoot in MK?!
There was a post recently by someone else here saying that a few select area photographers had been given the go ahead by Disney to do this on a limited basis. I don't remember the thread now. It seems Disney has changed their mind on that. I'm sorry, opThat stinks.I was wondering about that since I've always read that you're not allowed to bring a professional photographer in to shoot.
