Exactly how busy is EMH?

For a variety of reasons, I am faced with potentially going to Epcot on a night with evening EMH (I will be staying off site). I'll have a hopper, it's a MVMCP night and will have already done a night at HS. So basically I'm wondering if its even worth going to EP or will the crowds be so bad that I should just make it a resort or DTD night? I'll be there the first week of Dec. Thanks!!

Epcot, for the last 4 hours, or so, before the PM EMH begins… is often very BUSY.

I agree with Robo, but we always go to evening EMH at Epcot. I just love the World Showcase when things cool off an it starts to get dark (depending not the time of year) ... usually arriving around 5. I think it's manageable, but you need to have a plan. We usually reserve those hours for grabbing an early dinner ADR and then strolling the World Showcase. Certainly, there won't be any FastPasses of note available ... if you can possibly save your FP for the afternoon, that would be a great bonus.

So, are you saying 5-9pm is busy but PM EMH's themselves are not?
Just my experience ... but I find that PM EMH at Epcot starts off very busy, but the crowds dwindle quickly. We usually stay in the World Showcase until 10 and then head slowly toward Soarin' ... we can usually ride once or twice with a 20 min or so wait. I have to say, though, that there have been times at PM EMH that the wait for Soarin' never really dropped ... just something to keep in mind.

ETA: I also find that the posted wait times are obviously inflated at PM EMH ... Soarin' almost always says 40 mins and it's usually half that!

I always do MK EMH at night.

Starts off fairly busy but manageable. The crowds do disperse fairly quick.

I was able to ride Thunder Mtn 17x in a row once and Space Mountain 13x in a row. Towards the end, the CMs know you and say 'eh just stay on if you want.'

I was also able to ride POTC by myself. No one in the queue. No one on the ride. No one in the boat(s) but me. Amazing experience.

That's MK, and I agree.

Epcot does not have enough attractions to disperse a crowd wanting to ride.
And, (unlike most MK EMH) Epcot's PM EMH is not late enough to discourage families from attending.

What time of year? I'd imagine a big difference between MK EMH that start at 10pm and those that start at midnight.

Yup.
After 11pm, attendance can really fall off.

I say its worth it! Personally, I really enjoy Epcot at night.. The crowds are typically heaviest in the earlier part of the evening as stated by PP, mostly due to Illuminations, however, as it gets later the crowds normally dwindle so I would not be too concerned.. Just keep in mind that if you are staying off-site you can still stay inside the park and walk around/dine/shop/etc. BUT you will not be able to enter any attractions/rides during EMH as it is for WDW resort guests only..
