Now granted I know Melbourne is an hour plus away but I might seriously consider adding a day in DVC VB to soften the blow. This will save me from considering driving the 1.5 hours to ACY to get these kind of rates out of Spirit. Anyone know much about Melbourne airport?

Can't say that I know much about Melbourne.

However, one thing to keep in mind:

Weikle told the Associated Press that JetAmerica is starting out with one leased Boeing 737-800 and expects to add a second in the first month and have as many as four by July of next year.

That kind of worries me. With such a limited fleet, what would happen if there were even a small technical difficulty with the one plane?

My sister just booked a flight from Newark to Lansing with them for a grand total of $49.20 round trip for a weeklong vacation in July. For that kind of money, I'd take a chance on them.

As they mention in the full text, this is the Skybus model part 2. Instead of Columbus, OH and Greensboro, NC as hubs, they found some new pigeons willing to fund them.

As long as you treat this type of airline as disposable and can live with them imploding very close to departure date or during your trip, then you should be well suited to use them with heartburn.
