EWP group?

Linda, we have had a nice week with Ian greatly enjoying camp and Erin greatly enjoying time off from brother. Ian loves school so I suspected he would like camp. They keep awfully busy and luckily this week wasn't so hot as to ruin it.

I also wanted to wish Linda good luck with the doc visit and lots of hope for no hospitalization. If you go in for a spell will Tom go to his brother? Maybe the hospital would be a mini-vacation for you?

Also, Linda, it is me that has the point-rental contact. We have rented points from Giri Vis here opn the boards, a nice gentleman whose complete last name I will not even attempt to spell! He lives in Allentown, PA, not far from my parents, and is renting his points for the first few years to pay down the costs of DVC purchase. I have told him how I admire his restraint -- the first thing I did upon aquiring points was make a reservation! :) If you are ready to rent at some point I will give you his Email address.

Erin and I are going to the hobby store today. I am going to try to find a nice frame so I can display my small pin collection. I had been meaning to do this and when I met Lisa, she kindly brought me two pins. One is from the cruise and can only be purchased there. The other says "best friends." These are too special to sit in a drawer and I am working to find a way to proudly display them.

Lauralee, your post made me cry. You have managed to explain how one can survive the thing a parent fears most. Your kindness is a great way to honor Shannon. Wendy, you continue to be in my thoughts.

Love to all!

Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss. Your children are all obviously very special people - I recall the stories that you've told us, about them, in the past - and Kenny was clearly loved, admired, and respected by all who were fortunate enough to know him. We, in the Suite, are here for support and friendship, whenever you need us - just stop by to talk, vent, or share - we are here for you!

Congratulations on your work in Nursing school - even though I'm sure that your schedule is very hectic, I'm sure that it's been very satisfying and interesting for you, too.

Thank you for sharing your inspiring and encouraging words, Lauralee. Your strength and grace and thoughtfulness are admirable and inspirational.

And I hope that all goes well with your doctor's appointment, today, Linda - we'll be thinking of you and hoping that you are well and that you certainly do not need to be hospitalized! Please keep us posted, if you have a chance.

Hi Colleen - talk to you soon!

Take care, everyone - we are thinking of you!

I have always thought of us as a family here and now it has been proven, yet again. You know how, in really good families, people go their own ways sometimes but when either good news or bad news come along they gather around? That is us.

Lisa, I am delighted to see you. I have been worried about you. It is not like you to be gone for long. Unlike us, who are not as organized as you, you always seem to be there. A constant that we depend on and greatly enjoy. Are you going to see any good shows this weekend? Bet you are glad that you have your new a/c unit all up and running. I could not live without mine anymore. Spoiled is what I am.

Lauralee and Wendy, you both have been on my mind and in my heart these past few days. For all my problems I have never had to face what you have and you both are such a shining example of motherly love that is ever constant. A friend of mine here had a similar story and what they have done is to build a playground for the town's children. What a wonderful tribute. I admire them, and you so very much. Each child is a treasure, a reminder of the past and a hope for the future and ever so much fun to watch and raise. It is a comfort to know that yours were able to have such wonderful, loving and interesting women as mothers.

Colleen, yes, if I have to go to the hospital Tom will go to his brothers. The kids used to take care of him when I they were small. (sad, but true) I am having some tests on Tuesday. Not sure it is worth it as I am not in any shape for surgery unless it is an extreme emergency but I guess it is always good to know the name of your 'enemy'. :cool1: I will keep you in mind for the referral if we ever get a trip on order for this year. I am thinking of staying at OKW for five days and then transfer over to the Sports. Might be better the other way around though as stepping up is easier than stepping down sometimes. Did you find a frame for your pins? I have mine in a couple of cups. I bought a bunch on what I thought was my last trip a few years ago.

Austin won Reserve Grand Champion on his woodworking project at the fair. I am going to see him compete in the 4-H tractor contest and see him show his steer and heifer. It is a act of love that I am going to do this. There is little in the world I hate more than sitting in the sun watching the back ends of animals and without a book to read. Dalton submitted a poster on bugs as his Cloverbud project. If the judges ask him he can tell you about each and everyone. I am tickled cause I did a 4-H project on bugs myself when I was young.

We went to a wedding at the church behind my house a bit ago. It was for one of my former 4-Hers. It was wonderful seeing her and her siblings. They and my kids were all close as we only lived one street apart. A path was well worn for years. They now have a family Christian band and are awesome! I think they have a website if anyone is interested.

I hope it rains soon as it is about to kill me carrying water to my gardens in this heat. I get up early to start in. I have to go to the basement to turn on the water and it is not something I want to do right now, or ever. Lots of bugs though. I sprayed for them today. Bet it rains NOW!! LOL

All you youngsters settle down in the hot tub while I see about the new waitstaff and what they have prepared for our evening repast. After avoiding all that wedding food I am ready for something diet and cool.

SG/Linda

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick post to say "hello" - will write more, later.

Linda, I take it that your doctor's appointment went (relatively?) well, on Friday, as you'd been concerned about having to go into the hospital? I hope that all went well and that all continues to go well with your tests on Tuesday - we're thinking of you!

And you are in our thoughts, Wendy.

Just got back from the Disney Fans Meet in Allentown, PA - we spent the weekend there and we had a fantastic time - lots of fun! Great speakers and presentations! I came in 2nd in trivia.........not too bad...........who the heck knows (or cares) what kind of fuel the Jungle Cruise boats use, anyway?!!!! (That's the question that I got wrong!) My little trivia game went well, too - the Director of Data Collection and Field Research for the Unofficial Guide to WDW (who was one of the speakers at the Meet) complimented my questions and said that he liked them (.........maybe he will offer me a job on his team??!!! His job is to ride all of the rides in WDW and predict / determine traffic and wait-time patterns - great job! :))!

Anyway, here are some pictures that I took, if you'd like to see:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lisar...//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lisaruthb6/my_photos

Will post again, soon, so that I can really respond to your note, Linda - just have to unpack and get the laundry going, first!

Hi Colleen, Lauralee, Elaine, Caroline, Emily, and Amanda!

Hope that you're all having a great weekend! :)

Hi, Wendy. I have been away from the suite for a long time, and just read about your news. I am so sorry for your loss. I wasn't able to open the links you included, but please know you are in my thoughts. What a terrible tragedy for you and your family.

Linda, I hope you are doing well. I don't like to hear that you may need to be hospitalized. I have been thinking of you lots yesterday and today. I hope your sister in law in Pensacola is riding out the storm o.k.

Lisa, good luck with your paper and exam. I'm sure you're going to do well as always.

Hi, Colleen, Lisa, Lauralee and all the rest.

Hi Angie!

So great to hear from you! We were thinking of you and hoping that you and your family were faring well, during the storm! Hope that you are all well (in the storm AND in general)! Please be in touch and post again, when you have a chance, and catch us up on all of your news! :)

Does anybody know what Saturday is????

IT'S THE 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE ELECTRICAL WATER PAGEANT SUITE!!!!! :) :) :)

Come one, come all to a grand celebration in honor of this most auspicious occasion..........and meet the new staff of the Suite (hired to replace Bo and Don, who ran off to Hollywood, seeking fame and fortune!)!

Looking forward to seeing you all there, and looking forward to celebrating another year of friendship and fun in the Suite! :)

Good Golly Miss Molly - 4 years!!!! Guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun.

Angie, it is so nice to see you once again. Ya know, no matter how long you are ever gone, you will ALWAYS be an EWP gal. It is in the blood ya know. Please do catch us up on your life and the many honors that your children have garnered. I am thrilled to know that the storms passed you by and am hoping that any others die out at sea far from anyone's home.

Lisa, I am so awful. For some reason I forgot about you being in PA and had been worried for not hearing from you. Is not like you at all. You are the most dependable of us all. Second place? Not bad at all. BTW, what do the Jungle Cruise boats run on? I do believe I read that in the trivia book you gave me but I have forgotten. Not likely that you ever will though. Might you post your trivia questions for us sometime? Doubt I could answer many as I am not quite as into it all as you are though. Would be fun to see. Did Frank compete? I am hoping to see all the pictures as soon as I get time for them to all download. There is a $15 broadband deal out there but I still have some months left on my current contract.

Lauralee, hope you are resting up today in preparation for your surgery tomorrow. Maybe seeing you in a pitiful condition will inspire your hubby to complete the bathroom at least. My dad installed a pump on the well AFTER Mom had her first stroke and he had to start pulling the water up from the well. (grrrrr) Men just do not see details as well as women. (large details!!!)

Wendy, how are you doing today? We all think of you a lot and know how hard this all is on you and yours but know that you will find comfort and strength, if not for yourself -right now, for the rest of your family. Sending a long distance hug your way. Sometimes that is all a person can offer.

Colleen, are those rug rats keeping you hopping? Did you get your threshold installed. I am betting on you getting your way. LOL After school starts maybe we can get together again?

No worries about surgery. It has to be awfully serious before they would touch me with a ten foot pole. I actually had a doctor tell me once that as much as he needed a new car he was going to pass on me. LOL Seems that breathing problems scare people. Have not heard from the doctor's office today, so far so that is a good sign. Bad news travels fast.

Dalton is here and I have to pick up Austin in a bit. Will be at the County Fair the next two days so you may not hear from me. My favorite things, heat and animals. Gosh, I must love those kids!!

SG/Linda

Hi Linda!

So glad to hear that all is well and that "no news is good news"! And so glad to hear that the possibility of your having to have surgery is slim - that is very good news!

The Jungle Cruise boats apparently run on natural gas - who knew??? Frank didn't compete in the trivia contest (although he could probably win after living with me for so many years, and constantly being subjected to my musings about tidbits of WDW information!). I sent my "What / Where am I in WDW?" questions to you via e-mail - too long to post, here! Can't wait to see YOUR pictures, though, when you have a chance!

Have a wonderful time at the Fair! Are Austin and Dalton participating in any of the competitions, this year? It seems like just yesterday, we were discussing last year's Fair - time really flies!

Speaking of which..........I hope that you're all gearing up for our gala 4th Anniversary celebration in the Suite on Saturday! :)

Have a great day, Everyone! :)

Hi All!

Don't forget about our 4th Anniversary Celebration, right here in the Suite on Saturday!

Since our original Suite Boys, Bo Dacious and Don Juan have left us to seek fame and fortune in Hollywood (and I haven't seen Kas A. Nova around in months, either........hmmmmm.........), you will meet our brand new staff, as they will be serving us on Saturday night! Get ready to meet Romeo,
A. Donis, Tom Cat, and Lo Thario! They are quite a bunch and I'm sure that you'll all enjoy meeting them! They have been undergoing an extensive training program, so that they will be properly prepared to address our every whim!

So get ready to party, Ladies! :)

And hope that you're all having a nice week! :)

Hi all! I think there is even bigger news than the anniversary! Our own IASWRider is pictured on AllEarsnet.com at the Allentown meet! It is true -- we are the proud friends of a bonafide Disney CELEBRITY! I bet everyone in attendance was mightily impressed with her WDW trivia. Go Lisa!

Linda, chime in here and let everyone know you have not been incarcerated in some hospital with no internet access. I am thinking of you.

Ladies, it looks like the evil Emily (formerly tropical depression #5) is heading toward Mexico or Texas, and before I drive south to boot. I have been watching the Weather Channel with greater interest than usual, as I leave in 10 days. Looks like the forecast for the day we arrive (admittedly early out and probably inaccurate) is hot, sunny/cloudy, with possible afternoon thunderstorms. Didn't take a degree in meteorology to write up that one, huh? That has been the July Florida forecast for the last 100 years! I am just hoping for lots of sunshine, since with small children we spend a lot of time at the pools.

I got a promise from DH that he would not lead my babies into the dangerous Atlantic when we do Vero Beach. Too scary! Toes only, thank you. Between the riptides and the sharks I would be having a panic attack on the beach, waiting for doom to befall my kids. Swimming in the oceanside pool will be enough excitement for me. If Vero has internet access I will post here and try to show some pics.

Tomorrow morning bright and early we are heading to Holiday World, southern Indiana's favorite amusement park. Not Disney by a long shot, but lots of fun anyway.

Love to all! :teeth:

Hey - do you realize that we are on Page 200 of our Suite thread??!! Nifty! :)

Thank you for your kind words, as always, Colleen! :)

I can't believe that you are leaving for WDW and Vero Beach in just 10 days - yipee!!!!!! And I hope that you will have a chance to post some of your pictures while you are still away - it will be neat to see them and to imagine where you are and what you're doing, down there!

Don't worry about the weather - as you said, I'll bet that it will be "the usual" - just as you expect - sunny, hot, chance of thunderstorms - don't worry about any possible tropical storms or hurricanes. My friends who were just down there (actually farther South and on the West coast) just came back - they drove - and they had no difficulty with Dennis or Cindy when they were down there! I'm sure that everything will be fine! I don't blame you for not wanting Erin and Ian (or yourself and Scott!) to swim in the ocean - better safe than sorry - I'm sure that there will be plenty of beautiful pools in all of the resorts that you're staying in, to satisfy everyone's swimming desires!

Not too much to report from the Garden State - just hanging in there with my final summer class and helping my father get ready to host a small 79th birthday party for my uncle, this weekend! We're also going to see our local pro baseball team, the Somerset Patriots' game tomorrow night! (Their Stadium is 5 minutes away from Bridgewater Mall, Colleen! :))

I have a feeling that Linda is having so much fun at the Fair, with her boys, that she hasn't had a chance to check in with us. Never fear, though - I know that she will be back for our gala Anniversary celebration! :)

Hope that all is well with all of you! Have a great day! :)

Lisa, I will root for the Patriots by using my great Patriots cups you brought me! I was glad to get them as my old "NJ souvenir favorite cup" has about had it -- it used to say "Enzo's Pizza Washington, NJ" before 10,000 trips thru the dishwasher. I know you and Frank are doing the food for your uncle's birthday -- good luck and have fun!

Off to Target with the kids to buy some Mickey travel supplies.

See you all Saturday at the anniversary celebration!

I stayed too long at the fair and am tardy in joining you all. My boys done me proud. Austin got Reserve Grand Champion with a bookcase he built and a couple of second places with his cattle. Dalton gritted his teeth and pulled off a win for the Pedal Tractor Pull. I am thinking the fact that daddy was standing at the finish line and the joy of running over his feet might have spurred him on to bigger and better things. LOL I would send the video of the occasion but I fear that your eardrums would burst with all the noise from daddy and myself cheering him on. I felt a bit sorry for the boy who was in first place, only a bit though. They had a pull off and Dalton was the last competitor.

Alas and alack, surgery is on the schedule, exactly when is not clear. The good news is that it is gallbladder surgery, a relatively simple procedure. If I am able to have the new improved version it should go easily. I am keeping my fingers crossed and trying to convince my bellyfat to relocate to other parts for at least awhile. Adhesions from all my other surgeries might hamper things as well. My dear bil has kindly offered to drive me to and from the hospital AND take Tom home with him while I recover. They do not have kennels for husbands so this is the best I could do.

Lisa, you are a doll, a famous one at that. The rest of the DIS is just finding out what we have known all along - that you are a super star among super stars!! :cheer2: Natural Gas? I vaugely remember reading that. If only I had Dalton's memory. (sigh) I loved reading about you and seeing your pictures at the Meet. Only thing better would have been to have been there with you. May I please reserve the new staff you hired? I will be in sore need of some TLC after my surgery and cannot think of a better place to recuperate. That revolving feature will get a work out as I love an ever changing view. Shucks, you are returning to the mall but Lauralee is still hobbling around and will not be able to meet you there. Maybe another time?? You will soon catch up to me in meeting Suite Members!! Only 200 pages? As verbose as we are it is surprising that it is so few. Must be because we are single spaced and small fonted in an effort to contain our verbiage.

Colleen, if you should meet a large and lovely young woman with a red haired hubby and a pair of adorable children, one red headed boy and one blonde girl please say hello to my other daughter at HW. They are headed down this weekend as well. Her name is Tammy and I used to tutor her daughter. She is my dd's best friend and her hubby is my sil's best friend. I think they were sort of forced to marry (LOL) but it has worked out well. I will have to see if I got a picture of them yesterday and will send it if I did so you will be able to recognize them. I will be interested in hearing how you guys like Vero Beach as it is on my short list of things to do sometime. I am such a chicken I would be watching for sharks in the pool too. Incarcerated? I jest love it when people talk intelligent. I would not want to wear the same clothes every day and I do not want to use the same old words every day either. If it rains a bit it will cool things down AND scare many of the crowds away. Little do the novices know that if they just wait a bit it will go away, it usually does. I will keep my fingers crossed for good weather going down and back though. Are you going to breakfast in Columbus before getting on the interstate and heading south?

I must run cause I have all sorts of things to catch up with before (sometime after school starts on the 16th of Aug) I am chopped up. I want a nice clean place to recuperate before heading to the Suite for a mini vacation. I bought
a lottery ticket to win $10,000 at the fair, if I win I am going to splurge and book into DW from Thanksgiving until after Christmas and celebrate the holidays in style. (yeah, the grands will let me get away with that) Maybe I can talk their parents into hopping on a plane and coming down during Christmas if I buy the tickets. Never happen but one can dream.

Bye for now you Suite People, SG/Linda

HAPPY 4th ANNIVERSARY, EVERYONE!!!!!!

Yes, another year has come and gone, here in the Suite - and we are still here! WDW has yet to evict us, so we are not leaving!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the gala breakfast buffet to kick off our weekend-long celebration!

Here's to another year of fun and friendship in the EWP Suite! :)

Love,
Lisa :)

Hi Linda!

Please keep us posted with regard to the date of your surgery - we will certainly be thinking of you and know that everything will go smoothly and that you will soon be comfortably recovering and putting it behind you!

Congratulations to Dalton for his great win at the Fair! I still want to see what one of those tractor pull contests looks like - please send over the video footage, if you have a chance! Every year when you discuss that competition, I picture him literally pulling a big, huge tractor with his hands! :)

Our new Suite men are at your service, when ever you should need them, Linda (and everyone else)! :)

Have a great weekend, Everyone! :)

Very cool!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks, Dan! :) Of course you are invited to join our festivities, as well! After our celebratory breakfast buffet, we'll be heading to the Magic Kingdom, where we will be honored by participating in the Park Opening ceremony, this morning! We have special events planned in each park, throughout the day, to commemorate this most auspicious occasion! Thank you for stopping by and visiting us! :) And have a great weekend! :)

Very quick hi here... I was so busy with stupid things at work, that I just couldn't ever keep up anymore. I felt so bad though that I never had the time to do a real catch up and reply. I did eventually quit my job, and I just stay home now.

But a very happy anniversary to a great group of people :)

Happy Anniversary Suite Ladies and our most favorite male guest!!

:mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

I had to go out and get my favorite treat to share with everyone. Those chocolate slippers and such are nice but for mass appeal nothing beats the famous and absolutely fabulous Mickey Bars. Our top notch staff is going to whomp up a batch of Dole Whips for us to sip around the veranda this evening while we view our own private fireworks that were designed by dear Rider's buddy in our honor. It sure helps to know celebrities. Hope you all have the energy to sit and sip after all that Lisa has arranged for us.

Lisa, I will send the footage to you, complete with music. I worked for a few hours last night on making a disk for my daughter, who had to work, and it was awesome!!! THEN the program crashed just before I hit 'burn". I am trying to tell myself it was good practice. I must learn to practice on RW media instead of just R. (muttering that to myself over and over and over again) If anyone else in interested and has a fast connection let me know. I have a slow one so it will take me forever to send and I would prefer to do them all at once.

Opening Magic Kingdom this morning was just the start to the day. I had to take a small break in the Suite to be able to survive the rest of the festivities. It is hard keeping up with all you youngsters. Lisa, how in the heck did you manage to get us all into the Fastest Fingers at the Millionaire? With all the Disney questions it was a foregone conclusion that you would be the top scorer. If only they had asked you what the Jungle Cruise boats ran on instead of how many pounds of pasta is served at Mama Melrose's on a typical day AND how many forks were dropped that same day. But for that we would be sailing away on a Disney cruise tomorrow. Wow, I have forgotten that our unlimited credit cards can get us any old thing we want so we CAN sail away any old time we want. It is very tiring dreaming up things, I need a rest. :rotfl2: There, a lay down and a laugh always refreshes me. We are due to head over to the AK for a private showing of Tarzan Rocks and Lion King and will have the last ride on the Safari as the animals head to the barn so we are sure to see them all at their best. I cannot imagine what is planned for EPCOT. I think I will let someone else report on whatever that might be. Boggles the mind what it could be.

Oh, Elaine, how special of you to drop by. I have been concerned about you and Luis and am glad to hear that you are able to take a break and enjoy life as well as make it better for Luis as well. Maybe you can finally find time to do those projects that you planned when you bought your home. First, rest and collect your thoughts. We have missed you so very much. Ya know, once a Suite Mate, always a Suite Mate.

Colleen, Jstmee, twincandc, Angelina, Depply and FP ( I know I am forgetting someone, I am sorry, senility ya know) - looking forward to seeing you soon.

Dan, you may invite Marie along for our get together so that you might be surrounded by even more feminine pultritude. You know you enjoy feeling like a sultan with your harem. princess:

Slightly Goofy about you all
