Hi, everyone. I just checked in and have been catching up on your replies since the first of the year. I hope everyone is feeling better. Lisa, congratulations on the grades! That really is something to be proud of, don't know if I could come close after all these years out of the classroom. Linda, I hope the dizziness has gone away. Depply, I was glad to see POTC get the Nod from the People's choice awards! Very exciting. I LOVE that movie! I just wish I had been able to see it at the theatre first!

It is so cold down here (relatively speaking.) I know the rest of you beat us all around for cold weather but it really is miserable tonight. We built a big fire this afternoon, and I am headed back in the den shortly with my flannel pj's anda blanket! WE had planned to go to the park for a picnic with several families, but it was just too windy.:(

What's all this about our thread dying? I will have to go back further and read about it. We've been meeting for so long now that I can't imagine not keeping in touch!

Started the South Beach Diet last Monday, and have lost about 8 pounds so far. So far it iasn't been hard at all, thanks to s.f. Jello and Fudgesicles. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can lose a coupld of pounds a week before Mardi Gras (I would like to actually zip my new dress all the way up.;) )

Sorry, guys, I have NO idea what happened, and The system won't let me delete the first two mistakes. How EMBARRASSING!

Sorry, guys, I don't know what happened, things started going crazy, and the site won't let me delete the first two. I give up!

hi angelina!

ok about the ending of our wonderful thread--all i meant was we're going to have to start a new one soon because we're running out of pages! i was just simply wondering who was going to start the new thread: i mean it would be the same thread, just continuing into a new one!!

::yes::

Angelina, LOL It is great to hear from you but you do not have to keep repeating yourself to be seen. (grin) With me the dizziness never goes all the way away. (smile) How have you been? Anything new on the business front? There might soon be an opening for a new Martha Stewart and I am rooting for you. Would be nice to see someone human in that role even though I do believe she is being railroaded. BTW, I have a nice little file of SBD recipes if you are interested. Congrats on the huge loss. It is a great diet at first. So much easier than any I have ever done before but I keep falling off the wagon. I am doing sort of a modified WW/SBD diet. Lean proteins and lots of fruits and veggies with no overt carbs. No working very well though. (sobbing) Can I beat you just a tiny bit for complaining about your 'cold' weather. You would not want to know what it has been here. Brrrrrrr!!

Depply, do you mean to say that our thread is in danger cause we are running out of space? I did not realize that the Internet was finite. Can we delete something? I am ignorant about these things and you could just be punking me out. (see I am a hip old lady? LOL)

Had some computer problems and had to system restore it. Must have been trying to do too many different things. I cannot copy files to my burner. Keeps saying that I do not have a disc in and I do!!! Grrrrrr!!

Rider, are you resting up from your big celebration?

Your inept and confused friend, SG/Linda

Linda, unfortunately im telling the truth: they'll shut us off soon if we dont continue on a new thread'

:(

im not sure how long we have, but i will check

The boards are so slow for me tonight and keep eating posts, so I will try it again!!!

Hi all!!! I don't have the time to catch up now but I wanted to say that the thread has to reach 150 pages before they shut us down so we are good for a while at least!

Angelina good to see you stop in again :) COngrats on the weight loss!!!

Hi Depply, Rider & Linda!! I hope all is well with everyone... I need to get ready for work now :(

Take Care :)

Helenabear, how do you tell what page we are on? It appears to me that we are way beyond the 150 page limit. On some of my other forums they occasionally have to delete old posts and such. Are you working night now? Hope you did not have a lot of slipping and sliding last weekend. I heard it was pretty bad there.

Depply, I am all in favor of celebrating anyone who spent his life teaching love. Hooray for MLK!! We celebrate Rosa Parks here also. I have told my grands about her since they were tiny. I love the triumph of the small person over stupidity. I am sorry you got your signature taken away, maybe it will return soon. Comfort yourself with the fact that you have several tags while some of us run bare through the wilds of the DIS. (smile)

SG/Linda

Depply is right, we are at page 117... if you look at the bottom of a page (when you aren't posting) it will show you :)

And fortunately our weather wasn't too bad... they had the roads clear totally on Saturday when we had the icy snow.

Hi all,

Thank you for the wonderful invitation to be part of your long running thread. I am honored. I am sorry it took me so long to reply but it was a very busy weekend. These next few days are going to be really busy with work and getting ready for our trip (yipee!). I would love to here a little about all of you if you have time!

Me - I am married and have two girls (6 and 3). This will be my third trip to Disney World. I have also been to Disneyland. I prefer World. My other hobbies include camping, reading, shopping if I am in the mood and sales are good, volleyball. Well, i hate talking about myself, so enough of that.

talk to you all soon.

Hi Cathy!

Welcome back - glad that you stopped by! :) And that's so exciting that you have a WDW trip coming up so soon! Where will you be staying? Any special plans for this trip (ie: are you planning to see some things that you haven't had a chance to visit before, etc.)? Are your DH and DD's all excited about the trip, too?

I will be making my 14th "pilgrimage" to WDW in exactly 4 months! :) It will be my DH's 5th time there - we have gone for the past 5 springs, consecutively (he proposed to me there on one of those trips, then we returned during the same week, the subsequent 2 years to celebrate our honeymoon and then our first anniversary! :) )! Hoping that Linda ("Slightly Goofy" or "SG", as she has come to be known!) and her DH might be there at the same time as we are, this year!

Wow! Everyone has stopped by - where have I been?? Great to hear from you, Angie! And congratulations on your great success with the South Beach Diet! That is fantastic! I'm sure that you will look amazing in your Mardi Gras dress! I can't believe that it's almost that time of year again - it seems like just yesterday, you had sent us photos from one of last year's Mardi Gras Balls! Don't feel badly about the weather down there - it's still hovering between the single digits and low double digits (temperature-wise) up here, with wind chills below zero and lots of snow and ice on the ground - yuck! :(

You hang in there, Depply - I'm sure that you'll do a fantastic job with your weight losing, as well! And don't deny your appetite......just kinda "refine" it a little bit - that's what works best for me! :) You're right - we probably will have to start a new "chapter" of our thread, soon.........when we hit 150 pages......we'll leave that to Linda, our fearless Founder, since she gathered everyone together and started this one! The Suite will live on, on the Community Board! :) I'm sorry that your signature disappeared, too - is there any chance of getting it back, or are there new Boards regulations about signatures? How is school going, so far? I agree - Linda gives great and very wise advice! :)

Hi Elaine! Nice to see you! Getting psyched for DL? Do you have a definite date for your trip, yet? What's been new out there? How are Luis and the kitties?

Hi Linda! Thanks as always for your sweet words! How is everything going, out there? How are all of your boys? And how is your SIL feeling? How are YOU feeling, for that matter? Again, don't worry about those "alleged" extra pounds - I'm telling you that they will disappear when you least expect it! :)

Well, I'm back in school again now - I guess that my break couldn't last forever! :( I think that I've begun to "iron out" my career confusion, too. I'm planning to transfer to my original alma mater, Douglass College (at Rutgers) next semester, then apply to the Rutgers School of Public Policy (as an affiliated Douglass student), and change to the Public Health major, hopefully next fall. I think that that would probably fit better with my academic and professional background, would require a lesser amount of classes............and would "save" me from all of the math and science classes that I would have to suffer through if I stayed with Nutrition! :) I'm taking all Nutrition classes this semester - some of them even apply to the Public Health major, so that's good. Plus, I'm interested in that subject matter. I think that it will also be easier for me to find a job - now and in the future - in the Public Health field that works (better than Nutrition) with my set-in-my-ways-weekday-work-schedule-"requirements", as well! :) So hopefully that will all work out!

Not too much else to report from the icy Garden State!

Hope that all is well with all of you! Take care and stay warm!

It shows page 176 at the bottom of my page. If I am the 'fearless' (I wish) leader I declare that we start setting up another room if we must. It will give us an opportunity to upgrade the Suite to our exacting standards. Any suggestions? Gotta keep the EWP in our name though. Is who we are.

Rider, it will be our 13th trip in May and our 14th in October/November. I was about your age when I first went so I have a lot of catching up to do. Seven of those errant pounds went away during the night. Have a pretty good idea what is going on, Both my parents had congestive heart failure. I know people who have lived with it for years so I am not too worried. Never figured I'd get away with my evil ways forever anyway. LOL Could you tell me more about what you would be doing in your new chosen profession, in simple words? So far it sounds great. With all the training that you already have, it would be a shame not to use it in some form or another.

Helenabear, glad that the weather was not too bad for you. My sister lives on the other side of town and I think you live near main roads so that makes a big difference.

Cathy, it would be wonderful if you were planning on being at DW in May when Rider and I will be there. I was so hoping that Helenabear would make one of her frequent visits at the same time and that we could persuade Angelina also but it was not to be, (sighing forlornly). I love to read and have broken each and every single one of my fingers playing volleyball. I use shopping for exercise. Seems to go much faster when I have stuff to look at. I am so glad to see you in here again. We have such a lovely place and is would be a shame not to share it. Have you checked out the media room and the Jacuzzi on the deck? You can see the Magic fireworks from there and even the EWP. Sip a cold one and enjoy!!

Angelina, please send some of that only slightly cool weather our way. Would be a heat wave here. Brrrrrr!

SG/Linda

Hi all... boards have been very very slow for me lately... not much fun posting when they are so slow to load...

Cathy, good to see you stop in again! I just took my 10th trip to WDW this past December... I do hope to go again next December, but right now my sights are on a get away to DL. I haven't been since 1988 so a lot has changed I know. I am going with a friend and she just booked our room today!!!!

Hi Lisa, I have my dates as in my signature and as I said the room is booked. I will be joining a couple of friends (rooming with one) and funny enough they will all be DISers again!!! So I will have a great time no matter what! Nothing exciting going on, but the furbabies are doing great (one is sitting at my feet as I type). I hope that your term goes well for you!!!

Linda, I am not sure if the settings are different but I show at the bottom "Pages (118): « First ... « 109 110 111 112 113 114 115 116 117 [118] " So we are at page 118 as of right now. Names aren't all that important to me, so we could just call it the EWP Suite if you like since that is what we keep calling ourselves. We will know when to shut down though because the moderators will lock us and invite us to reopen :)

I am just sorry I can't make another May trip. I really wanted to go to DL and this trip fell in my lap. I am not sure how likely it will be that I get two WDW trips in at all this year or even next year. But we are young and we are trying for the trips when we can.

Well I need to make some dinner. Have a great evenng all :)

Helenabear/Elaine, it is sure good to have inside information from you. Maybe the difference in page numbers has to do with how our settings are. I seem to remember that I could pick how many posts to show per page. Glad to know that we will get a warning and not have to wander in cyberspace for forty years.

I wish I could be at DW in December but it is just too iffy on the weather for me to attempt it again. I barely made Mounteagle last time. Did you know that the mountain named in the Burt Reynold's movies? I lived in Ocean View when he did the scene where they destroyed the roller coaster there. Just a bit of trivia. LOL

Hope WMCathyCanada is the one to shut us down. would be keeping the tradition going. Do you happen to know what the record is for the longest thread (timewise)? I am the competitive sort.

SG/Linda

Linda, I think I have it set for the "standard" 15 posts a page. So that is probably why we show different numbers.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to drive that! I probably wouldn't either if I had to drive. So I don't ;) Since I normally go alone, it is always by plane for me.

As for who shuts us down, they have something called the "DIS Moderator Team" now and they are the ones who do it. Every once in a while Alex will as a WM type, but she isn't even with this group anymore.
