OK, so I am not really alone as Tom is sitting in the bedroom watching the tv but since I do not have a grandchild, for the first time in days, I am sorta alone. Have gotten quite a bit accomplished though. Cleaned the downstairs from top to bottom, cooked up a bunch of things including another tuna casserole (with green beans this time) and a special batch of the Crustless Pumpkin Pie to take to the Sunday School's brunch tomorrow. My desk even had some clean spots. Amazing and I surely needed to catch up on a lot of things so this day is most welcome.
We got a few inches of the white stuff also. No school yesterday so Dalton hung out with me and we had a lot of fun. My poor daughter forgot to pick up the kids at kindergarten today. I usually do it for her but I am a big chicken to drive on ice and snow and refuse when there are small children involved. I know she felt badly. Her husband was complaining about her to me the other night. I believe mil's have a bad reputation cause we have to keep out mouths closed a lot and it makes us look meaner than we are. LOL
Lisa, you did not even have to ask about the jacuzzi. It was the first thing installed along with the satellite dish, Internet access, fully stocked bar, library of best sellers and an on board chef (has funny name of Puck, I believe). I am sure I am leaving out a few minor details but rest assured the fellows have planned for our every comfort.
I had had a hard time envisioning you in an urban environment as you are such a friendly, comfortable and small town type of person and now I understand why. I wish I had your courage to roam afield as you do. Even getting in the car to go to the grocery is a challenge to me. I do it but it does not come easily. Was supposed to pick up Dorthea and meet a friend in Columbus for our annual Christmas party and had to back out as the lane to the log cabin is more than I (or most other people even) can handle. Rescheduled for next week and I am hoping for better weather. My other friend down the street needs transportation to doctor's meetings and I cannot help as I just plain do not drive in the winter much. The first snowflake falls or looks as it is about to appear and I run for home. I tend to close my eyes and scream when the car slides (have had the experience) and refuse to risk others lives. Mary is in danger of having her water turned off as they want to charge $175 to change the name on the bill to hers from the previous tenant and the trustee cannot pay the bill unless it is in her name. Love the system. (sigh) We are going to buy paper goods and cleaning products for her and find something pretty for her Christmas presents. Am hoping to get my grandkids involved as it is past time for them to learn to give as well as receive. I have quite a few items left over from my refunding days that she can chose from so she can give her grandkids something for Christmas. Hope she gets to see them. She has services that come in and do some small things for her but she is totally housebound now and since she has no friends to speak of she sits there alone each and everyday. Is a very sad situation and beyond my capabilites to solve every problem, very frustrating indeed.
Dalton and I watched the Christmas at Disney World video naturally and a few others. He is heavy into Rudolph this year and can sing the song word for word. He has asked me to help him have a 'garage band'. Scary child. Tattoos and piercings are next I fear.
