So I guess it better late than never to write a trip report for our recent journey. It all started with keeping a "good" secret from our children (who would have drove us crazy if they knew). My husband and I decided that we were taking the kids (included us a the BIG kids) to Disney for some free dining. After several ideas, we came up with the plan to have a dvd done up with a friend's voicing as Space Commander Buzz. Buzz commanded the kids to go and fight the evil emperor Zurg in his dominion (Disney World). The kids thought we were going to Pennsylvania (which explained is how we explained the suitcases) and during a rest stop found out our new flight co-ordinations.

Two days of travelling and nothing really exciting until we get to Orlando. Usual tourist tacky photo at the Florida state sign.

Sunday August 16, 2009.... Kids are geared up to see the cabins and of course Mickey! Driving down World Drive, kids were smiling and pointing at the Palm trees. Once we got in sight of the "Walt Disney World" entrance, we all shouted "we love you Disney World" and honked Daisy (our van) as we drove under the sign. We get to our cabin and we have to wait for a bit as the cabin is not ready. Everything went straight into the cabin and we were almost ready to go. We looked at the time and the exhaustion on our children especially our child with higher needs and decided that we needed to slow down and change our plans. It was better to see a smile on their face tomorrow then to have them grumpy today!

Our dinner seating was at The Wave at the Contemporary Resort @5:20pm. The scenery was very modern and just very relaxing. Our waitress was super friendly and great with the kids. Food was amazing, but everything at Disney is amazing. We left the restaurant and went onto the forth floor's Fantasia store and did some minor shopping. After we decided kids were ready for bed , so we hopped on the boat back to our cabin. One quick and well-timed bus ride later we were in our cabin and ready to sleep.
