Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

Ok, not coming down in December that will be the trip 2 yrs from -- how depressing!! But I am coming down in Nov 12-22, I know that everything won't be on- but the glasses for the Osbourne Light show do they give you them there or what?? Anyone know when they start to decorate the resorts-- some of them must be done--or starting to be done when I'm there-like GF--that's a gingerbread HOUSE for goodness sacks!!

They no longer give out glasses at Osborne Lights. I went for the first time in 2006 and they were already gone then. You can buy the glasses-cardboard things at places like CVS around the holidays.

I went to WDW in November 2007-can't remember the exact dates but we were there for Veteran's Day and on one day of our trip the Chef (who I had seen on TV) was putting the chimney on the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. It was really cool to see him working on it.

Last year I think Osborne Lights started after Thanksgiving but this year they are earlier again.

what do you mean "glasses for Osborne lights"? Like 3D glasses?

Love the list by the way - mostly the same as mine!

We have 3D glasses out the wazoo. Are they all we need? Plain old paper 3D glasses? We have the ones you get at the movies too, but I don't think those would be the same.

Well, actually, I saw them at Cracker Barrel when they had their Christmas stuff out - I don't know if they would have them just yet.

Off to CB this morning. Thanks for the tip, will report back.

Possibly. There is simply no guarantee you will get back in.Particularly at the MK.Most parks that close , can re-open and close throughout the day. There is simply NO way to predict how it will be .If it is important for you to be in a certain park for dining or whatever, you need to get there for rope drop and stay there.Otherwise you may get in, you may not

In my experience, that's been absolutely true for Christmas Day and New Year's Eve day (probably Christmas Eve as well) but we've had no problem going in and out on the 26th through the 30th. That's not to say it couldn't happen, but we haven't had a problem. Are you staying on site? If so you are more likely to be able to get back in...

Have fun!

Great info...thank you very much for starting this thread and everyone that has participated! :goodvibes The week we are there we are going to 3 party nights...since its just the 2 of us for a change on a special anniversary trip (first visit without kiddos in over 22 years) I wanted to add flexibility as well as be able to relax and still see everything special there is to see over 3 nights. Those 3 are the last 3 of the season...15th (a Tuesday), 17th (a Thursday) and 18th (a Friday). Since those are the last ones should I expect them to be busy busy? Thanks!

Have you ever been to a Party Night. They are all the same, more than one is a waste of money. Just a night at MK with shorter lines, cookies and cocoa, visit with Santa, fireworks and a parade, once you did it, more than once a year is well boring!! (I do love the party for the one night though) But if you just want to throw away extra money go for it. Same fireworks and parade after the 19th, and no need to pay extra.
