Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Meal Vouchers

What would happen if you tell them, for example, you do not want the fries with the hamburder. Then there is no side so could you go around and then order a more expensive side like a salad of chilli fries or would they count the empty space as a woulda coulda shoulda side. Also, some of these places have a whole pizza for lunch. Can you use your voucher for a pizza?

Everything on the menu is supposed to be al la carte. I did not have any trouble swapping side items. Actually, i never asked for the combo, I always said. I want chicken strips, a salad for the side, and an orange soda. Sub in your menu items.

I dont think they will allow you a full size pizza for the voucher, as that is a multi person feeding item, but you can get the small personal sized pizza

If the order was for a sandwhich and chips they would not count the chips as a side would they?

Got my vouchers in the mail from Hotwire and the expiration is 5-31-05. How do I cancel my membership?

There is a phone number located on your membership form. You will have to call that number. From what I read on these boards it is a high pressured to cancel as they try to change your mind. Stick to your guns and make sure your account has been canceled.

depends on the place, we always asked our server what we could get with the voucher and they told us.

since this is the budget board and most people are looking for ways to save money I have to disagree with some who seem to feel the vouchers are not" worth the trouble" ...I do not feel the 5 mins it took me to order them was a lot of trouble considering we saved well over $100, using only 6 q/c, 3vkl and 2 break.( to me that is a good wage...what like $1500 an hr?) we never had to order something we wouldn't have liked anyway ( we might *not* have ordered it *without* the vouchers to save money but it was nice to get a better meal than we would have otherwise.)we never *had* to go out of our way to use them... it isn't rocket science to figure out when you go to the rest. if you are going to spend over the price of the voucher or not..if not duh, don't use it. but considering most places take them and most places are familiar with them I hardly see how it could be equated with bother...if some don't want to use them fine don't, if money is not an object, good for you but imo they are a good bargain and i for one was happy with them and definitly will use them again next trip.

just a thought some of the online menus are not up to date and the costs have gone up. at the places we ate in Jan. desserts were always $3-5, drinks 2-2.50, and most sandwiches are 7 + , add tax so right there you are past the q/c voucher price. you are not going to make a killing every place but why throw your money away...just do not understand that reasoning. I guess it depends on how frugel you are. naturally the vkl are a better savings since they are at places where the meals cost more and if you are never going to eat at your resort, most of the park meals only save a$1 or 2 but even so for a family that adds up quickly

that wasn't my experience with hotwire..they asked me why I was canceling I said i wouldn't use it enough to warrent keeping it, they said ok and canceled it..some have had them offer something like money off utility bills ( which I was hopping for actually since I was pleased with the service from them but don't use the rest of the stuff enough to warrent keeping it) to continue thier membership. my daughter did the same thing with the same result.

Do all of the vouchers have the 5/31/2005 expiration date now? I thought I had read on another thread that they did but the first page of this thread still lists them all as 5/31/2004.

Does anyone know if Connections or simple Escapes has a maximum on the number of Q&C vouchers that you can order? Hotwire has a max of 40/year. That won't cover a large group for an extended vacation. Please advise. Thanks, Sandy

There is no number to call on the information that I was sent from Hotwire to cancel my membership. Can someone post the # for me?

Sandy, someone posted that their son's soccer team was using vouchers that they got as a group for $10 rather than the $11.50 price. I cannot find that post although I did try a search and read thru several pages of this post. Perhaps contact Disney group dining and inquire. Sorry I can't help more. Otherwise, I guess several family members could join and order vouchers for your group.

I had no trouble cancelling Hotwire at all- in fact I didn't want to cancel- I ordered all the vouchers I needed and some movie passes- then a few days ago I went to their site ago and when I went to sign on, they said my account had been closed. Oh, well- I still don't know if I want to join up again or not- they had some good deals, but don't know how often I'll use them The funny thing is, I can't seem to find a number to talk to a humanbeing about why I got cancelled- they sure had no problem when it came to taking my payment. But I got my 40 Q&C anf the lunch ones, too!:wave2:  :wave2:

After reading this thread all 21+ pages over the last few days I still have a question that I can't find addressed. What do you do with meal vouchers you do not use? Are they refundable? Or do most people make sure they use all their vouchers? Thanks for any help, Janet

They are not refundable and they do expire.

you can always get rid of them on ebay or the dis auctions.
I planned very carefully what I needed and got those vouchers using ebay. I didnt have any left over.. except two kids premium which we couldnt use since we didnt take kids with us.

The vouchers can be returned to HWSC, or Connections within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. You will have to check the other purchasing venues for their refund policies.

You can also sell the vouchers on the disboard auctions to help out those who cant join and buy vouchers themselves.

I have both sold left over vouchers and returned other vouchers, so I know that it works.

I only bought those I knew for sure we would use and as I'm a planning nut, it wasn't really that difficult. However, should you end up with extras I would say ebay is the way to go. People are making a killing over there selling the $11.50 q&c certificates for double!!! WOW! There is an auction closing in a few minutes and 4 q&c are right now $100. I cannot believe what people will pay on ebay. There are plenty of park passes selling over there too which seems nutty to me. There is NO way to know if the days actually remain AND the passes almost always go for more than they would cost brand new. As the saying goes, there is indeed a sucker born every minute.

i do not know if every place has the same policy butwith Hotwire you can send anything back with in 90 days of purchase. ( at least that was what it was last Oct.) however , I tried to guess how many we would actually use and did not plan on them for every meal. I bought 6 q/c, 3 vkl for 2 adults, 10 days . the q/c was about what we needed, maybe would have used 1 or 2 more and next time will buy more vkl, probably for each day I plan on a sit down lunch ( usually when we eat our bigger meal). some days we go for big dinner then depending on where we are, would use a q/c for lunch. the only places I personally wouldn't use the q/c was AK ( thought the ak voucher was a better deal since you had your choice of a sweet or snack) and epcot cause we like to sample smaller items from different places rather than just get one thing.
