Everything We Know About Free Dining -

We're doing the same thing! Most days it's just 2 meals but we're doing Narcoossee's, Brown Derby and Yachtsman. Trying places we've never tried before and I can't wait!
Yeah, I love the freedom to eat at the signature restaurants that the Deluxe plan affords us. I'm most excited about Jiko.

hugabearjo and WDWBetsy,

Thank you for the replys. I still haven't booked and am soooo up in the air about what to do. DH would like to go back but in December when it is cooler and less crowded and with kids. That sounds like a plan to me. My kids could care less about dining.

But I would also like to go back for Free Dining and since I have a $200 deposit hanging around out there it just seems like it is to good of a deal to let go. Maybe DH and I could go w/o the kiddos. We did that last year and it was really nice. But it would have to be a major budget trip. . .

what say you all? a value for 3-4 nights with some good food for just the two of us would be very affordable with $200 already down . . .but then we would have to fly or drive. . .

I so wanted to stay at the Contempory but I am out of my budget range for sure with just 2 of us. and all of us don't fit anymore. I'll need two rooms anywhere (5th child home from college by then and he will probably want to come plus baby turns 3 this year)

sorry! rambling away . . hoping for some better thots than my jumbled ones!

Anyone know if I can still book? I know it's so late that there's probably nothing available, but anyone have extra insight? I've tried looking online and nothing seems available... I'm going to call later, but does anyone have a suggestion for one resort over another (as to what might have availability... I don't care where we actually stay, I just want to get in!!)?

can I still get free DDP if I am booked to stay in a van down by the river? It was a 7 night deal I booked on ebay.

When i made my reservations i orginally wanted to go from Sept 19 to the 29th and was informed i would not get free dining after the 20th on this package. I don't know if the CM wasn't informed you could or if this is what the rules are but I figured I would just put that out there so when you are booking you don't get a shock. I just moved mine to earlier in the month.

I would like to know this also, because I have booked from 9/19-9/30, and thought I would have free dining for the whole thing. However, when I priced things out on the regular WDW website, the price was exactly the same as with the free dining offer.

Thats incorrect as I have free dining from 9/20- 9/29!

I am going with a party of 8 adults, three rooms. Most of us are arriving on 9/19 and all three reservations begin the 19th. But my inlaws, in their own room, won't be arriving until 9/20, possibly late at night. If their res is for the 19th, but they arrive on or near midnight of the 20th, does that mess the free dining up?
my brother in law is arriving on 9/19 with us, and he is in my room. Maybe We should move him to his parents room to guarantee free dining?

God, I love disboards! I haven't logged onto here in a while and the first thing I noticed when I signed on was the free dining. I was set for a cruise in October but then I noticed the deluxe dining option and I totally jumped at that. Booked 9 nights at POFQ from 9/5 - 9/14. I was going to split the stay between 4 nights at ASMo and 5 nights at WL but it was about $350 more than the 9 nights at FQ so I decided to just stick with that. I've never done more than 6 nights at WDW, this should be great!

Okay...I'm still learning the ropes here....just exactly how do I get FD? Can anyone get FD? I think by reading all of the posts..I just got more confused:lmao:

Yes as long as it is within the booking dates! Aug 24-sept 20 I think. You have to stay on property!

I just called back and upgraded from a moderate to a deluxe for ONLY a difference of 300 over 4 nights. I did a little happy dance.

For those of you who are AP holders and book the FD with a one day base ticket - how do you get the ticket off your KTTW card? I just spoke with a CM who says you can't do that until the end of your trip. My friend is a Florida resident who will upgrade her one day ticket but doesn't want it on her KTTW card (scrap book people will understand this!) but also has to upgrade before the end of our trip obviously. He said the DP won't work without a park ticket on your KTTW card??

<<<Starting Monday, April 7th, 2008 .. Disney Visa Card Holders will be able to book Free Dining for the fall of 2008. You must have a Disney Visa card to book, they will ask for it.>>>

Can you clarify this one? Is this is a single offer? Not part of the offer that requires staying before 9/20/08?

We are booked for the week of Thanksgiving and I would dearly LOVE to get Free Dining! Could I apply for a Disney Visa and then book the Free Dining?

Kim
(hoping I'm reading this right because that would be AWESOME!)

No, the free dining pckage is available for 8/24-9/20 - no Thanksgiving I'm afraid. WDW offers this package during peak hurrican/back to school time to fill the rooms - no need for that at Thanksgiving.

We did this no problem right away last year at the hotel desk- they just gave us a separate card that was the park ticket-- which I actually was able to use at Disneyland California in December! (note- this doesn't work in reverse)
