I have been planning on going 9/22-9/29 anyway, and not changing resorts, so OH HAPPY DAY!!! My kids teachers may not like it, but I am okay with that!

Here's what we've learned so far about Free Dining. ALL OF THIS right now is rumor. I'm posting what we think we know so far and I have no doubt some of this information will change.

  • Starting Monday, April 9th, 2007 .. Disney Visa Card Holders will be able to book Free Dining for the fall of 2007. You must have a Disney Visa card to book, they will ask for it.
  • Starting Thursday, April 12th, 2007 .. The General Public may call to book the Free Dining promotion.
  • Free Dining will be offered 08/26 to 09/22. Your check-in date must be on one of those days to receive free dining. Period. The only way around that is to split your reservation if you arrive before 08/26. If your check-IN date is 09/22, you can get Free Dining for the duration of your stay at your check-in resort. Moving resorts mid-stay under these circumstances would terminate your free dining.
  • The main indications are that this will be for THREE nights minimum.. same as before. I'll update this when the official announcement is made. Several current sources are now stating 3 nights... a few people have been told five nights by the Chase Disney Visa people.. but they are probably mis-informed.
  • You must purchase a package that includes at least a one day base-ticket for each person staying in the room. All persons in the room must purchase the same level of ticket. (These can be upgraded separately after you check in if you wish)
  • The code for DISNEY VISA CARD HOLDERS ONLY ... is rumored to be ZHQ. Non-Disney Visa card holders should NOT try to book with this code. We will post the general public code as soon as it is known.

We called Chase this morning and that is the code they gave us. They also confirmed the rumored start day for Visa card holders to make reservations as April 9th with free dining starting August 26th. :thumbsup2 For those who can take advantage of this offer ~ sadly, we can't.:sad1:

Sadly, my family and I are going august 6-10th so we won't be able to take advantage of free dining. Congrats to those who can? Is there any rumor or likelihood that a room only discount or a hopper upgrade could occur for those traveling in early august? Does disney try to do something for those in august who can't take advantage of the free dining plan? That would be nice:)

I am right there with ya! My kids are missing school...oh well! disney is way more educational!:rotfl2:

Is this available at all resorts do you think? This year we'd like to stay at a Deluxe resort. Last year we were eligible when we stayed at Moderate. Thanks!!

It has been available at deluxe resorts in the past, and why not? Paying rack rate for a deluxe reaps much higher revenue for Disney than if you are paying it on a value resort. The purpose of this offer is to increase occupancy, and I'd think that goal would apply to all levels of accommodations.

My mom offered to book our vacation with her Disney Visa. Is that OK or that a no no? Either way, we are going to WDW,

when i called chase visa the nice cm said that all resorts/categories will be included...

but... when i went online to book a few trips for the 8/26-9/2 week there were NO vacancies at CSR... so i'd bet that will be all but impossible to book for free dining... unless they have a big block of convention cancellations... (and the tom joyner family reunion which is typically at CSR over labor day is being held at gaylord palms this year)

I booked my package(room, tickets and dining) through AAA for 9/26-10/5/07.
What should I do on Monday? Call ta and have her cancel our reggie and then rebooked it within the one month time frame for free dining. Can I book 9/22-10/01/07 and still get the free dining? Since I'm a Disney Visa cardholder all I need to do is booked my trip using Disney Visa with code ZHQ to get the free dining even though it's through AAA? This is confusing!

I have also booked through AAA and was wondering the same thing my AAA Agent told me they have thier own ocdes but had not heard anyting as of Friday Afternoon about them and was not all that happy that I had the Disney Visa code to give her. Does anyone know about a AAA Disney Visa code out? If so would anyone care to share it, please!:goodvibes This is our first trip to Disney and these boards have been so helpful I want to THANK YOU ALL for all hte WONDERFUL info you post. THANK YOU!!!!
:tinker:

I think they waited till the "active hurricane season" prediction was announced, to offer the free dining to the general public this year. By narrowing the window for it, the people who booked using the Bounceback promotion had an edge. Fair enough. Last year the predictions for hurricanes was wrong and for the safety of all I hope they are wrong again this year!

What number did you guys call....to get the information from the Disney Visa people...I called the number on the back of the card, and the lady I talked to said she did not have access to that information from her office and gave me another number, which was wrong.

That info is being released "officially" via Email on Monday. Call and be sure your Email is current.

I'm a newbie to the free dining experience...

Can you get a AAA discount and free dining at the same time?

If so, can this be done through Disney reservations or only through AAA? (In the past, I've gotten AAA discounts for room-only reservations through Disney but I thought that I recalled that AAA discounts for packages had to be booked through AAA.)

Thanks so much!

I have a four night stay booked at the Beach Club with a post card PIN code during the middle of September. I also have a Disney VISA card. I don't mind converting to a package (we already have tickets, but I could book a one day park hopper if necessary). Will I still be able to keep my post card rate? If not, I gues I need to get out my calculator to see if it is worth it.

Laura's Dad : You will have to choose.. the postcard rate OR free dining. You cannot stack discounts.

jpainter: There is conflicting information on your question. Last year, some people successfully had an AAA discount on the room portion of their stay along with free dining. Prior years this was not allowed. And even last year not EVERYONE was able to do it. There is some speculation that was a mistake. To sum up, I'd be prepared to have to pay full rack rate for free dining... regardless who you book thru.
