I usually don't visit the Budget board, as I have a terrible time keeping a budget at WDW, but I did want to fill you in on a new store at DTD. There is now an "EVERYTHING UNDER $10 store. We visited this past Monday. They really have alot to choose from for kids on a budget. We saw autograph books, Disney Beanie Babies, all kinds of toys, hair accessories, you name it, and if it was under $10 it was there. It is located between Pooh Corner and the Home Store, where the Garden shop used to be. It will definitely help kids in their shopping, as they won't have to see the $100 thing that you KNOW they aren't getting!

I agree, I saw it last week as well, and though it's TIGHT QUARTERS in there, it was definitely worth a visit. Great place for kids to be able to buy some souvenirs! Or adults too! :)

We made a special effort to check out this store and unfortunately I have to say I was disappointed. I guess I'm spoiled by the Character Warehouses with greatly discounted park merchandise. I was hoping for some deals on park stuff, not just a collection of every little thing that costs less than $10.

Still, you make a good point about taking the kids there. Give 'em $10 or $20 and let them have at it.

The warehouses are temporary liquidation stores. We seem to get one at least once a year somewhere close to my home. I'm in Northern California, but I've heard of them popping up on the East Coast too. The majority of the merchandise I find is Disneyland, although I have been able to get some WDW stuff too.

Here's their link. Character Warehouse

There are also a few I've heard of near WDW. There is a lot of information on these on Mousesavers.com. Mousesavers

I just wish WDW would set up a website with everything from WDW listed.
There were a couple of frames that I wanted to buy and never got a chance
to and I'll bet that happens to a lot of people. If they had it I would look it up and see if that was what I was looking for and then order it. I wouldn't care about the shipping either, it's cheaper than flying down to pick it up (but not as much fun).

There actually is a phone number you can call and order WDW merchandise and have it shiped to you. If you can describe the frames, I am sure they can help you.

The phone number is: 407 363- 6200.

I agree. I thought it was going to be items that were on sale/marked down to less than $10. It's not, its just items that are always less than $10- like many of the beanies that have always been $8-$10.

I missed a store?! I definitely don't remember seeing that one....;)

I went to this store as well on our last trip. I guess I was a little dissapointed that it was all regular priced merchandise, just all under $10 and put under one roof. I thought it would be "sale" stuff. For instance, the autograph books were the same price as they are in the parks/resorts, etc.

We were just there 2 days ago. The items are the same price as in the other stores, but they don't have the expensive things there like the other stores. My kids liked it because they have to spend their own money on things and they knew that everything was affordable so they could just pick what they wanted and knew that one thing would not put them over budget.

It is a small store, but it was a nice addition to DTD.

Wow! They actually have one near me, in MI! So what kind of stuff do they sell there? Is it worth the 30 minute drive for me?

Actually, there are 4 Disney outlets in the WDW area, although the 4th, Character Corner at the LBV Factory Stores, is not owned by Disney. This is my favorite, however, because their discounts are usually much deeper than the Disney-owned outlets at Belz and OPO.

I thought it was a reduced price place, and was disappointed to see regular priced merchandise. It was hard to get around in that place. It wasn't crowded, but it was crammed little store. I didn't buy anything there.

The Under $10 store at DTD had surprise bags for $6.99 and DD bought one. There was some cute stuff in there. Princess Screensaver, a blinking light up MVMCP pin from last year, a stuffed figment, a light up Pooh pen and paper and some candy. Well worth it. I was going to go back and buy more for souvenirs for dd's friends, but forgot all about it.

We also hit the LBV outlet a few times. I bought a lot of jewelry and some holiday sweatshirts too.
