Just got off the phone with disney reservations. They are sold out for December 3-11. The only thing they have is a room at the beach club for $405. I thought that this was value season and the parks were empty at this time? Any suggestions?
What time is the best time to call to see if they have cancellations?

I would check the website, NOW. And if it says the same, then....call back tomorrow. If it doesn't, call back NOW. I can't believe it.

Is WDW rack rate rooms completely sold out or were you looking for discount rates. AP rates are probably all gone. They came out a couple of months ago and probable went in a day or two. It seems like lately you have to plan your vacation months in advance or not get any discounts. Spur of the moment trips are probably hard to get discounts.

But, keep trying you could never tell.

Also, I checked the website and there are plenty of rooms for your dates. There was availability at almost all the value resorts and all the moderates, also availability at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will just have to pay rack rate. Sorry. :(

Good luck, keep trying.

I just checked your dates on line and there was availability at several value resorts (AS sports and music, I didn't check movies) and moderates...the values were $689 for the 8 nights including tax...I think you just got a lazy CM when you called....it happens all the time you could ask for a room for the night before arbor day 2006 and they would tell you everything was sold out....just call back...you will likely get a different answer this time!!

Can you be flexible with your dates at all? Do you have an annual pass? We got $194 per night at the Beach Club with an Annual Pass discount. And, that includes the tax. I think it was $179. We asked for that same week and were told no more rooms with the discounted rate were available. Luckily, I was able to be flexible with my dates so we just switched to a time when there were AP rates available.

If you don't have an AP, I would suggest getting one. There are no more room only discount codes from what I undetstand. The pass pays for itself I think on the 8th day. I would suggest going to mousesavers.com because that site outlines who can benefit the most from an AP.

Good luck.

P.S. Or you can keep calling and try to get a moderate resort - there are cancellations all the time.

I called CRO yesterday to check on my Nov. reservations - wanted to see if anything had opened up for Nov 9 & 10 - she accidentally put in the 9 & 10 of December, and it was available. I am staying in AKL Concierge level, which should be about $250/night plus taxes with the discount.

Expedia shows availability at all the values, most of the moderates, and a few of the deluxe, as well as the Swan/Dolphin. You must have gotten your signals crossed with CM. The standard BC room available on expedia is showing at $289 a night. Call back, check the Disney website, or try Expedia and you should have some choices.

I checked the website and CBR is still open. And so were some of the others. Maybe you are asking specifically for suites/conjoining rooms, etc???princess:

Wow, suddenly they are all booked. Maybe it is b/c of the convention(s).

I just checked the website and the following deluxes are showing room availability for this timeframe:

YC: Water View
BC: All Vies
GF: Lagoon View
BWI: Standard View
AKL: All Views

CR, Poly, and WL were sold out. Hope it's not going to be too crowded.

I have usually found that you can get competely different answers every time you call CRO. It always depends on who you talk to. I just keep calling back until I get someone whose info I like!:p

MJust got my mickeymonitor and they are oofering GREAT rates at AKL

:bounce: :hyper: :bounce:

If you have AAA, try booking through them. Often, they'll have their own "block" of rooms.

Good luck,

Hi- It seems that the 5th and 6th of December are the problem. We ran into this too with our ressies. Before the 5th and after the 6th everything is wide open. There are some rooms available for that weekend but some places (Poly, WL, GF) are sold out and there are no discounts at all at the others. I just got an AP rate starting on the 7th for Allstars so maybe you can split your stay. Good luck!

My sister is there the weekend of the 5th and had some problems when she was reserving. Seems there is a mousemeet or something going on at the same time.

She had specifically picked this time of year because she thought it would be quiet. Oh well.

We picked it for the same reason. There is actually some sort of car dealer convention or something to that effect that runs from the 5th -7th. CRO has assured me that once the seventh comes everything will return to being quiet again. I feel they are right as starting on the seventh every resort is available and nearly every room category is too!

Isn't the 5th & 6th MVMCP? That is probably why there aren't any rooms.

it's also called the International Autobody Congress & Exposition . . . On the Orlando CVB's website this show is scheduled for 12/4 - 7 and estimated attendance is 35,000.

The city of Orlando doesn't have enough hotel rooms near its convention center to support these large citywide conventions so the bigger the show, the farther away from I-Drive the attendees have to stay. This kind of show puts pressure on the entire city and drives occupancy and rates up.

Just keep looking & keep calling. The discounted rates may be sold out but I'm sure there's rooms available somewhere.
