I worked a 2-10pm shift tonight. DH called me around 6:30 to tell me that DS had 'taken a little spill' at school today. Seems DS and his friends were playing tag, and DS was running across the sidewalk they have on the playground for bikes, and tripped and fell, and in his words, "I slided on my face Momma"
DS has never been a clumsy child (how he managed that, I 'll never know, as I am the biggest klutz going)so I don't have a ton of experience dealing with bumps, bruises, etc.
DH told me he looked pretty rough, but I just got home, and checked on him, and oh my goodness, he looks like he has been in a fistfight. His lip is cut and swollen, he looks like he has a black eye, and the whole side of his face/nose is all scuffed up.
To his credit, when I asked him if he cried a little, he told me, No Momma, I cried a LOT, it really hurt. But then Mr. Chris (the cook and certified EMT, who knew) cleaned him up, gave him an ice pack, and a popsicle.
I just feel so badly he got hurt, and I was not around to 'kiss it and make it better'
