Everything is OK--but I just want to cry

I worked a 2-10pm shift tonight. DH called me around 6:30 to tell me that DS had 'taken a little spill' at school today. Seems DS and his friends were playing tag, and DS was running across the sidewalk they have on the playground for bikes, and tripped and fell, and in his words, "I slided on my face Momma" :( :(

DS has never been a clumsy child (how he managed that, I 'll never know, as I am the biggest klutz going)so I don't have a ton of experience dealing with bumps, bruises, etc.

DH told me he looked pretty rough, but I just got home, and checked on him, and oh my goodness, he looks like he has been in a fistfight. His lip is cut and swollen, he looks like he has a black eye, and the whole side of his face/nose is all scuffed up.

To his credit, when I asked him if he cried a little, he told me, No Momma, I cried a LOT, it really hurt. But then Mr. Chris (the cook and certified EMT, who knew) cleaned him up, gave him an ice pack, and a popsicle.

I just feel so badly he got hurt, and I was not around to 'kiss it and make it better' :( :( :(

AWW! :( Poor guy! Hope he isn't in much pain!

Ouch, Debbie!!! The little ones can sure give us sad feelings at times, can't they. He'll be fine, {hugs} to you.......him too. :)

Awww, {{{{hugs}}}} for him and you.

Bless his heart. I hope he heals up quickly and I'm so glad he wasn't hurt badly.

Oh Deb, come on and cry on my shoulder:( Your poor little guy. I know in a couple of days his little face will be all healed up but in the meantime if he is like my little nephew he will be quite proud of his wounds...it must be a guy thing LOL

Poor little fella.:( Poor mommy.:( He'll be feeling fine in a day or so, I'm sure. He'll probably look rough for awhile though (I've had LOTS of experience with my kids and my boo boos:o, we're all klutzes, I'm the biggest klutz though:eek: ).

Thanksgiving pictures from this year will make a good conversation years from now though.;) Be sure to write on the back of the pic EXACTLY what happened though.:)

Browneyes,

My first thought was to take his pic with the digital cam tomorrow, and email the 2 grandmas, so they have time to get used to it before Turkey Day.

*sigh* I think I'm going to just go up in his room and look at him.

Deb, that might not be a bad idea. They might breakdown and cry if the boo boos look as bad as I think they look. They might need to be prepared (and they'll probably want to bring him a little something special to make him feel better;) ).:)

Deb, in the morning give him a kiss from me. Or you could tell him it is from the disappearing cat:) Poor lil' guy:(

Awwww Deb! :( Poor Mama and little guy! :( I remember feeling that way when Cam took a spill on the playground in second grade. It was his biggest boo boo to date, and I wasn't there to make it all better. :( I felt awful. Well, you can make up for it over Thanksgiving vacation. :) Give him lots of hugs and an extra large piece of his favorite pie. :sunny:

Awwww......poor baby. :( Here's some pixie dust for a speedy recovery. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

{{{{{HUGS}}}}

It is always hard when our little ones get hurt, especially when we can't be with them. I sure hope is recovery is quick.

Awwww, poor little fellow! You have ME in tears, deb! :(

I know what you mean about feeling bad when they are sick or hurt and you aren't there for them. Its a horrible feeling. I've had the daycare or school call me at work and tell me they are sick or hurt, and even though I tear out of work and rush to their side, my heart is beating so fast until I get there.

{{{hugs}}} to you and your little man, debster!

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} to both you and your DS! It hurts you as much as it does them doesn't it?

{{{HUGS}}} and Pixie Dust for the little guy.

Aww....I'm glad he will be fine, Here's a big {HUG} for you!
