There's a post in this thread with genie+ sell out dates. Last update was Apr 4. Is that the last time this happened? We are there June 22-26, trying to decide if we need to get up after midnight to be sure or can get it when we wake up to do the VQ/LL dance in the apps.

thanks for any info!

Even on days it sold out, I'm 99.9% certain it wasn't sold out before 7AM. It was later in the morning, or even later in the day. If you buy it at 6:50AM and then do your VQ/LL selections, you'll be fine. Doubtful that late June will have the crowds that cause it to sell out anyway. It seemed to happen during extra busy holiday and break time periods. April 4 was just a few days after Easter - still busy.

Yes, the last dates G+ sold out was Apr 4. There is no concern whatsoever that it will sell out during your dates so no need to wait up until midnight to purchase.

To date the earliest G+ ever sold out was around 8:30AM and even selling out that early only happened one time.

We do our best to keep the information in the ‘Everything’ threads current. If anyone notices out of date information, please post a comment in the thread and we will happily update the posts on page one.

Thank You! And your efforts to keep that sell-out data up to date are very much appreciated!

Do I have this correct- if we decide to go to the parks later in the day, I can still book an ILL and Genie+ at 7am and then every 2 hours later I can select another ride using Genie+

When you go on Genie or ILL at 7am are you able to select the time you would like to ride?

Can you book a second ILL at the same time you book the first?

Thanks

If you're staying on site at WDW, you can select ILL at 7AM. Otherwise, you can't select an ILL until park opening. With ILLs, you select an available time window. You can book 2 ILLs at any point throughout the day, including both at 7AM.

You can purchase G+ anytime after midnight. You can book your first LL at 7AM (whether staying onsite or not), but it's 'next available' time. You cannot choose a specific time. You then can book your next LL 2 hours after your first park opens (often 10:30 or 11AM). Then you can book another 2 hours after that - if you look at your MDE app, the time will be shown when you're eligible to book another. If you wish to book LLs for later in the day, you should book the attraction ASAP, then check on the app and use MODIFY to push the time later. If you use modify, you won't lose your '2-hr' window for booking your next LL. If you cancel and rebook, the 2-hr window starts over. Hope that answers your questions - there is a ton more detail and info out there on this post - check the first couple pages.....

Thank you

It does answer my questions. I had read the initial pages but just wanted to make sure I understood the process.

- If a ride goes down and you hold a Genie plus LL for it you will automatically be given a pass to use on any ride in the park (except paid LL rides). This pass is good from the time your Genie+ reservation was supposed to be until park close. This happened to us one night at Magic Kingdom.
This above statement happened to me yesterday. When the ride came back up, my LL was now gone for that ride and no other LL was being offered for that day for that ride. I was stacking LL and it was the last ride we were going to do. Is there anything that can be done about that? Is it worth speaking with a cast member when that happens? Or, since so many people lost their LL they no longer offer it because the standby like would be so long to fit in all the people that missed their LL time.

Are you saying that you weren't given a Multiple-Experience Pass (MEP, also known as an anytime pass or select experience pass or a few other names) to replace the LL you had? Or that the MEP was not good for the ride that went down? Or that you used the MEP on something else and then couldn't get another LL for the ride that went down?

I'd be surprised if you didn't get an MEP at all or if it wasn't good for the ride that went down. If you got one and chose to use it for another ride, and then couldn't get another LL for the ride that went down and came back up, you made your choice. You chose to use the MEP elsewhere rather than save it for the ride that went down and which might come back up later. The MEP is supposed to compensate you for the LL you lost be letting you enter the lightning lane for one ride. It (at least as I understand it) can be used for either the ride that went down or one of a number of others listed on the MEP.

If you didn't get an MEP at all, I would speak to a cast member.

I was given a MEP but when the ride started going again, no LL were being offered for that specific ride. I saved it in anticipation of the ride becoming available. Jungle cruise and thunder were down due to the weather. Is this a common occurrence when a ride goes down and then comes back that LL are no longer offered?

You just use the MEP, you don't have to book the specific ride.

It happens. It is probably more common for rides that often run out of LLs anyway, like Slinky, Remy, and Frozen Ever After. But I am not surprised that being down for a while might cause them to reduce the number of LLs they give out for the rest of the day. I don't know that they do that, but it makes sense.

As the prior poster just noted, you can use the MEP to ride the ride that went down, assuming you didn't use it on something else already. That can cause you to have to choose between (a) saving it in hopes the ride comes back up, and potentially wasting it if that ride doesn't come back up, or (b) using it on something else and then not being able to use the lightning lane to ride the ride that broke down if/when it comes back up. But at least you have a choice.

It’s a shame the MDE app does not give a way to sort the Genie+ selections more than just alphabetically. Or even remove rides or shows you have no interest in or to sort by the area of the park they are in.

It is possible to just select the ones you are interested in. If you use the "Start here to plan your day" you can select the attractions you are interested in. Later on the My Day tab you can "edit selections" and remove the ones you already rode. I do this all the time to make using Genie+ easier.

mickey916 has the best overall option listed above.

But a little trick I like to use - if I'm interested, for example, at getting a LL for Space Mountain. If I go to the MK "Tip Board" page, they're all listed alphabetically, as you know. But if I scroll down and click on Space Mountain (the actual picture or name for Space Mountain), it will show details about the ride. Then the next time I go to the Tip Board for MK, it automatically takes me to the Space Mountain entry, and I can easily go in and make a LL from there. So I'll click on Space Mountain before my time for the next LL, then later it'll take me to the exact ride I want when I want to book. Of course, this only helps if you know exactly what you want to book next - which we often do.

Also if you click on the name or picture of an attraction, and then scroll down just a bit to click on the LL symbol, it will take you back to the same attraction on the Tip Board while refreshing the page.

This comes in handy at 7:00 am if it isn't showing a return time that you want. (Not so important now that you can modify times, but sure was useful when you couldn't modify the time.)

What are the odds that I will need Genie+ or ILL during the first two weeks of September? It’s been a while since I have gone but that time of year has always been low occupancy in the past.
