Everything but Disney Day 2 - Ohana and Seaworld Spooktacular
Saturday 15th October 2011
I was awake at 4.30am and then got up 5.30am.
Our first plan was a 7.30am breakfast adr at Ohana at the Polynesian. We’d never done this before but all enjoyed it. Character interaction was good. Food just ok for me but DH and DD enjoyed the food. Had our first mickey waffle of the holiday. Cost $67 inc tip.
After breakfast we had a wander around the Poly resort and then did a loop on the monorail – caught a glimpse of the MK opening ceremony.
Great to be back – even DH commented on the Disney feel - all the cm’s were so friendly.
We then went to Osceola walmart (spent $160!) and I had a pedi at Queens nails nearby for $20 plus trip. Go there at the beginning of each holiday. In walmart we bought some snacks and drinks (inc lots of beer for DH) but also stuff to bring home like a massive tub of advil painkillers, Gillette razor bades etc
For lunch we stopped on the way back to the condo at quiznos subs. I’d bought a groupon.com deal for $6 for 2 subs and just had to pay 39c for the tax. Went through the mcdonalds drive in for a happy meal for DD – they came in a bucket for Halloween again this year. We ate on our balcony overlooking the lake.
We unpacked and pottered around a bit.
DD managed to run full pelt into the closed patio door to the balcony (it had been open for lunch and then i’d closed it but she’d not realised!) Luckily she was ok but gave us all a fright. A bag of ice on her head and she was ok and still wanted to go swimming.
We went to the pool which was only a couple mins walk away. Lovely pool area but the pool was cold which was disappointing. Apparently they turned the pool heat on half way through our stay but it made no difference imo.
I made DD some Heinz pasta i’d brought with me for her tea.
We went to Seaworld for their Halloween spooktacular – arriving at 5. Seaworld was literally 2 mins drive from the resort.
It was busy with alot of locals but we did the special trick or treat route with DD dressed as a witch. This is on at weekends in October and is included in normal admission. We each got a bag and collected quite a few sweets.
Watched shamu rocks for the first time – we all really enjoyed this.
We left at park closing at 8 and went nearby to Flippers for a pizza to take back to the room. Flippers are a local pizza chain – we went to the one on westwood blvd. It was very busy but the food was good. Cost $37.
We went to bed 10.15
Weatherwise it was about 80 degrees and cloudy most of the day – warm but not too hot.
