Everyone's Thoughts on At World's End...

I know a lot of us had our tickets pre-booked and some of you are probably getting ready or are actually seeing it as I post this.

I saw it earlier on today here in the UK and I was blown away!!!!!

I absolutely LOVED it!!! I was so excited to go see it but I have to admit... I was actually a little disappointed at the beginning. Not seeing Capn' Jack for a whole half an hour kinda sucked!! But seeing Keira within the first 5 minutes made my day!!!
It just took a while for anything to really happen I thought.

It did get a lot (and I mean A LOT) better though and I, as usual, was really getting into it. Trying to swashbuckle as much as I could in my cinema seat!!

I've tried not to read anything about the plot on the Net (and apart from the odd few pictures, I have stuck to it - Lord knows how... ) as to not spoil my experience of the movie so there was a few surprises that I certainly was not expecting throughout the movie.

Overall, I enjoyed it immensely and am going to see it again next week!! Afterall, there is no such thing as too much Pirates!!!

I'm wondering if it's much more violent or scary than the first two. We want to take our kids (they've seen the first two), but want to hear opinions first. Do you think it is any worse than the first two? My kids weren't at all scared of the cursed skeleton pirates or even Davy Jones' crew.

I wouldn't say it's any worse than the first two really. There were small children sitting behind me in the cinema today and they seemed to find pretty much the entire film funny!!! It is pretty funny in places...

There's some what I suppose you would call violent scenes with swords throughout (more so than the first 2 movies) and Captain Sao Feng's toe breaks off at one point (and that seemed to get a BIG gasp from everyone) but other than that, it's fine I'd say.

I hope you decide to take the kids and you all enjoy it!

I hope this redeems the trilogy in my eyes..I absolutely loved TBP...but DMC was too campy and sometimes silly..IMO...I am sooo hoping this last film is more like #1.

I did think it was more violent, but not horribly so.

I wasn't surprised Jack came in so late, afterall, I expected he was dead.

What made this and made the first one was the use of the ride: Quotes and such, and similar connections, i.e "Pieces of Eight."

For the record, although not the way I expected, the fate of the Flying Dutchman ended up as I expected it.... 'Tis all I'll say now for not wanting to give too much spoilage.

I was very happy with the movie, and will try and see it again this weekend.

We just got back from seeing it! I thought it was great!......so much action and the cinematography was amazing! I can't wait to see it again!

i just got home from watching it

it was awesome!!!

although it did get pretty confusing at times, i just had to piece things together, i'm planning on watching it again this weekend, possibly tommorow!!

i'm predicting a pirates 4 in about 4-5 years, can't wait till the box office sales!!!

all i can say is wow!!! what an ending...orlando is sooo flippin hot!! lol...and i totally agree with a 4th in a few years..but wow wat a great movie all in all..not disappointed one bit..a lil confused at first yes...but i figured it all out...favorite line in teh movie...i dropped me brain!!

this is definatley one of those movies where you have to go back and watch again, not because of the story, but to appreciate how the film was made, it blew me away!

Hmmm, you might be disappointed. I thought this was was even "camper" than the second movie. Some of the things going on with Jack were a bit odd IMO.

I thought that was great too. And the part where it went black and you heard all the sounds from the ride - it made me go all funny!! Hearing those sounds in a place other than the ride was a little weird but it was great for those who have been on the ride!

All we can do it hope I guess. We all know Johnny is more than up for doing more (who wouldn't be at 40M$ a pop!! ) but it's no secret that some of them are very weary of doing more.

I think 4-5 years would be perfect though. We'll all be dying from withdrawel symptoms by then!!

hahah yeah, Kiera Knightley has been open about how much she doesnt want to make one anytime soon! But Johnny Depp has also been open on how he does not mind making one anytime soon, so if they decide to make one sometime soon(and say that Knightley wants out) how about using Natalie Portman?

NEVER!!! That would RUIN the films IMO. I'd rather not see another one made. Or at least not have a new female who would be an underlying replacement for The Knightley!! Just Orlando and Johnny would be better than trying to replace her.

I hope she gives in and agrees to do another one though.

That is too bad..I loved the first one...it was a bit campy..but not silly...and dark in flavor.. in spite of it's comic relief...The storyline was more interesting.. more like the ride....Of course the actors looked good in both films..but I am separating my feelings about how good the actors looked..and.. the storyline of each film...

I didn't think the post-credits scene was surprising. I thought it was a good way to end the series for the long term while the pre-credits ending leaves open the possibility for more swashbuckling with the cast as we know it.

We saw POTC last night. And while we did enjoy it, it didn't have the wow factor we were expecting. I found this one to be a bit to cheesy in some spots and the plot very strange in others. It was also waaaayyyy too long in my opinion. The ride references were really really great though....
