I have no idea how to fix this and I am using, A windows XP, Internet Explorer.

I have had this problem on my grandmas computer for over 2 or 3 months now and it is getting me very, well mad. So if any computer experts can help me I will be greatfull. I am at my grandmas for 4 days and I cant stand being off VMK for more than 1 day. Serious.

Please people help.

you need to have at least a pentium 3 128MB of ram and IE 5.2 or greater... do you meet all those requirements?

What is a pentium 3 128MB of ram and how do I know if it is IE 5.2 or greater

You will also want to check your security settings. Tools > Internet Options > Security. WHile it is important to have the security on your system strong, if it is set to HIGH, it will prohibit Shockwave from loading and running properly. Generally speaking setting it to medium provides protection, but does not block things that you may want to run (like Shockwave).

Pentium:
This is referring to your processor. To see what you have:
1. Go to Start > Control Panel.
2. Double click on System.
3. On the "General" tab there is a section with the heading, "Computer:" There it will tell you your processor. In that same area, it will tell you how much RAM your computer has.

IE 5.2
1. Open IE
2. Help > About Internet Explorer
Directly under the logo it will read: "Version...."

IE 5.2 or greater - In your IE window, go to the Help menu & choose "About Internet Explorer". That will show you the version you're using.

Pentium 3 with 128MG Ram - From the Start menu, choose Control Panel. (If it isn't there, go to My Computer & it is listed there.) Then go to Performance and Maintenance & choose System (you might need to scroll down to see it). That will open the System Properties. On the General tab at the bottom, you will see info about your Computer - something like this:
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
2.79GHz, 512 MB of RAM

If what you are saying is that when you sign on to VMK you sometimes getting the blue box that says something along the lines of "Check security / firewall settings" AND you are on a machine on which you know you have signed in before and nothing have changed - just try to sign in again.

I have received this message as well - and nothing is wrong. Upon trying again, I get in with no problems.

If you meant something else - please explain again. :)

I had the same exact problem a while back. I e-mailed them and they gave me an suggestion to try. If you have tried to install the program this most likly will work

First un-install the program for shockwave. Then re-install it. It should work. I got so mad but that worked for me! Hope it helps.

P.S: If this does not work contact them. They get back to you in minutes and most of their answers do help!

Thank you fan. Were exactly do I un install and then re install it at?

Ok, I actually e-mailed them and asked them the questions so i could get a bunch of possibilites of why this is happening but first try like i suggested it. un-install and re-install. Hope this helps! (i know exactly how you feel!) :cool1:

You can get the Shockwave Player uninstaller here:

Windows

http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=SWUninstall&P2_Platform=Win32

Mac OS

http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=SWUninstall&P2_Platform=MacPPC

Then reinstall here:

http://www.macromedia.com/software/shockwaveplayer/

In some cases, it's actually the browser which prevents the successful
installation
of Shockwave Player. In such instances, simply reinstalling
Shockwave Player
may not work. Reinstalling or updating the browser, then
installing
Shockwave Player should take care of this. If it does not, the issue
may be related
to a corrupted registry. This more serious issue is usually the
result of general difficulty with the computer.

Internet Explorer for Windows users should consider attempting to install the
Players in
Netscape as a troubleshooting step. If you can successfully install
the Shockwave Player
in Netscape, the difficulty you've encountered is almost certainly related to some issue with Internet Explorer.

AOL and CompuServe users who get errors 1, 10, or 12, or an error indicating
that there's trouble connecting to www.macromedia.com:

The latest version of Shockwave Player resolves the installation errors you've
encountered. You can download the latest Shockwave Player here:

http://www.macromedia.com/software/shockwaveplayer/

If you are using Internet Explorer for Windows, and when attempting to
download the
Shockwave Player, no dialog boxes appear, you may be experiencing an issue with Microsoft's Install On Demand feature.
If at any time you indicated that you did not wish to install the Macromedia Web Player,
Install On Demand will prevent their subsequent installation.
You can undo this setting with the executables below:

For Shockwave Player
