Everyone is going to WDW but ME!!!

OK, no need for a pity party because we are going on a DCL cruise this summer. But the first summer since 2000 we are not going, suddenly everyone else is--
my BIL, fresh from Iraq, is taking his wife and kids April 30-May 7, staying at SoG.
my across the street neighbors are going with her parents, brother, SIL and niece June 9-17, staying at Coronado Springs.
Another old friend who I don't talk too that much anymore is going for 5 days in June, staying at Beach club with her husband, daughter, and another family. They are also doing Universal and going to the coast.
BIL doesn't need my help anymore since I got them a Passporter (last night he asked me "did you see Jennifer and Dave are pregnant?" DH says "who are Jennifer and Dave?" LOL!) The neighbors are really nice but when I told her she should make some PSs she said they will probably "wing it" (with 10 people? Good luck!) although she knows they need to get up and go right at open in June. Same with the other friend, although they are planning Blizzard Beach and when I told them I thought TL was a better fit for their 5 year old DD I don't think she was paying attention. (sigh). I just hate it when people have a bad experience and it sours them on Disney and then they don't understand why we keep going back!

We are in the same boat over here...the one that hasn't set sail for WDW. Spring Break just ended for my kids and you would think that there was a neighborhood group rate or something! We stayed home(as usual) talking about how much we wished we were there, or even had a trip in the works...hoping for Xmas '05. Of course, DH had a point, he said that he wouldn't want to be running into half the neighborhood on his vacation The only thing that felt worse was knowing DD really good friend was in Hawaii...for her 8th time! she's 14!!!! However, the same girl was in WDW over presidents break just this past Feb, and in Australia over last summer and heading to the Canary Islands this summer....what a life! Hang in there!!!!!

I feel your pain! Actually we just went in January this year but before that the last time we had gone was 1999. Now my sister and niece are going in April and my brother is going in December (you know my family who never understood my little obsession). Someone where my husband works is going soon and a friend of mine just got back. My best friend is looking into going too. The soonest we are going to get back is 2006 (although I am scrimping and saving to try and talk DH into going in Feb 2005). I have even offered my services as a tour guide to my brother and sister and even a few strangers! No luck yet so I will keep my fingers crossed for Feb 2005. You are not alone!

I feel your pain too. I know I am going to DLP in a few days which I am really looking foreward to but it is not WDW!! We won't be going back to WDW until christmas 2005 at the earliest

At least you're able to go on a DIsney vacation this year. My plans for WDW and Orlando were put on hold when DH lost his job last November. All of my savings went towards paying bills. Now I have the privelege of saving for WDW all over again, for a trip that won't likely happen for at least another year. Our 1999 tri is becoming a distant memory.

We were going to only do the cruise, but I knew I couldn't stand being so close to WDW and not go. We have 2 days left on our park hoppers and a rain check for Blizzard Beach. After much hinting, (well it was almost begging ) DH surprised us with four nights at POR after the cruise. He went through DU and we have been watching for codes and discounts for a deluxe. Maybe if some worthwhile codes come out you could end up there too!!!

Not me...........at least not in the foreseeable future. Maybe I can talk DH into it next year....and I have to talk, talk, talk, since he doesn't get it. Maybe DD and I can go by ourselves!!

Intense Blue, I am with you too--DH just paid himself for the first time in 6 weeks! My folks are paying for the family to cruise. And we can't take more than a week off with DD#2's swimming and DH's business, so no WDW this summer. Just have to live vicariously through others for a while!
PLUS the band from the HS where I teach was there last week--one of them called me Friday morning at school to tell me how cool it was to march in the Share a Dream Come True parade on April 1!
