for our upcoming trip to the Fort. My 13 year old says he needs a break from Disney:eek: and Mom and Dad say they don't need to spend the money right now. I'm not sure what they are talking about as I pay for everything because they are so gracious to let us use their camper. Anyway, I got down momentarily until Gretchen, my 9 year old, asked why she and I couldn't still go. So, looks like my baby girl and me will be having a grand time after all. She is wanting to try the horse rides and since I'll be saving a crap load of money not paying for 3 other people, I think I'm going to let her do whatever she wants. This may turn out to be the best Disney trip ever! I'm going into it with high expectations...I'll let you know how it turns out.

Go for it. A few years back my son and I went to FW and left the girls and the wonder beagle home. It was a great trip overall, although he spent the first two days telling me everything I had ever done wrong as a father. When he was done venting, he said "Overall, though, it wasn't so bad" and we moved on from there.

So, what you're saying is, you have room for 2 more, and it's your treat!

:lmao:

Really, have a great time, can't wait to hear about the Mother - Daughter trip. popcorn::

That sounds like a great time! Take lots of pictures, you know we'll all be waiting here for your TR! popcorn::

What age was that? Gretchen is just 9 and I'm hoping she hasn't realized ALL of my wrongdoings just yet!:rotfl:

Denise since this is a girl trip, you are welcome to come along, but Frank will have to stay in TN. Actually, we could leave him with Gage at my parents' house in FL. They are planning on doing lots of fishing that week on the farm.

I will definitely take lots of pictures and will attempt a TR.

Liv, that sounds like the makings of an awesome trip. You and your DD will really bond on this trip. unless you end up killing each other, and then I don't imagine we'll be getting a very good TR afterward. So for our sake and the sake of the trip report, I hope you have a great time!

Do me one favor. If you happen to see Snow White on this trip, say hello for me. Tell her I'm coming down in 2 months, and she better have her dress cleaned that day cause I want to get a nice picture.

Because we homeschool, we already spend every minute of nearly every day together, so we shouldn't get on eachother's nerves too bad. Plus, she's the baby and is a Mama's girl! Hopefully those 2 facts alone will make for a pleasant trip.

As far as Snow White goes, I'm going to hunt her down and I won't leave until I deliver your message to her!:thumbsup2

Yeah, tell Snow that she should be afraid,,very afraid. Dave is in no mood to have to hunt her down this trip and he's coming with camera in hand ! :rotfl2:

Is your parents still bringing the camper for you? Hopefully the cold weather will be gone when you come.

Yep, they are. I was gonna give you a call on the pop up rental if they had ditched me altogether. I hope the weather warms up too. I am OVER winter already! When I left to go to the gym yesterday morning, it was 14. I grew up in FL, I don't do 14!!! My parents have been camping out in front of their fire place in the living room for the past couple of nights. My Dad said all of his fire wood was 'bout rotten 'cause it's been so long since he's built a fire.

Hey if you get down to the Fort the 24-31, hollar at me. I hope to be in the 1700 loop.

Wow, a mother daughter trip sounds awesome. My 13 yo daughter is talking about ditching me on our trip in May. She said, "mom, just give me the cash you would have spent on me an leave me with Maw Maw." OMG!!!! Is it the age? My 18yo son is doing everything he can to try to make it. He may have band, college, or work commitments, so I am waiting on seeing if he makes it or not. If my dd13 keeps being a royal pain in my keester, I may offer to give her $200 and leave her butt behind!!!! I was so excited because this will be the first trip that my youngest will be able to ride everything I want to ride and I won't have to deal with the child swap thing. We were ALL gonna be able to ride TOGETHER!!!! And now, it may just be me and my 3 youngest.:sad1: That is so sad.

Well, I hope your trip goes awesome!!! I loved your last TR, can't wait for the next one.

BTW, I homeschooled for 7 years. I miss my kids and miss being able to travel to WDW during the slower times.

I sure hope everyone's schedule comes together for your May trip.

That is so ironic about your 13 year old because that is EXACTLY what mine said to me. I told him he could stay with Papa and Grammy, but I sure as heck wasn't paying him to stay with them. The nerve!:confused3

I hope our trip goes well and so does yours. If you were still homeschooling, ya'll could just come pile up with us.

OMG, do you know the whining and crying I'd have to endure if I did that? :lmao:

Have a great time Liv.

To throw a curve ball in my life, the RV dealer that I have been talking to about a hybrid just called me with a good deal. They have not had any hybrids on trade-in for months, but lo and behold, let DH buy a boat and me pay for a Disney trip and they call me! Go figure!!

It always works that way, doesn't it?

Got a tax refund coming?? ;)

Yes, it does!

I already thought about the tax refund, but it's not gonna be that significant this year. Now, paired with what I've saved for our upcoming trip would make a great down payment, but my 9 year old has already told me she doesn't want a camper if it will keep us from going to FW!

We were suppose to leave yesterday morning for my parents' house for a wedding shower and our departure for the Fort on Sunday. We didn't and we're not. I'll not air my dirty laundry as to why I've had to cancel this trip but within the last 24 hours I've been mad, sad, angry, depressed, but most of all disappointed. Last October I had a situation happen to me that "got my attention." I decided then that I was going to try to be more positive and accept that sometimes things don't work out for a reason. I'm really being tested right now! I'm letting these roller coaster of emotions go with the understanding that WDW and FW will be there when the opportunity arises for me to get back. With cancelling this trip, it will allow us to pay off the boat that DH purchased in December a lot sooner than expected. Looks like I might have my own camper this year after all. I have had my heart set on a hybrid, but I am going to do some MAJOR research on popups. I want something I can pull with my mini-van so that I can go where I want, when I want.
