I saw a post on here that talked about Everyday Minerals and the poster said it was better than Bare Minerals. I went to the website and it looks great but having spent so much mony on Bare Essentials I hate to chance more if EM is not better. Has anyone tried both and how do they compare.?

DD and I tried the samples from EM and did not like it at all. We both love BE but the EM stuff was just not the same. It felt very powdery and dry. It also wiped off very easily, like if you just touched your face it came right off.
Not for me. I'll stick with the good stuff.;)

Thanks I am not going to even bother with this stuff at this point. My husband put a BE kit in my stocking this year, a friend bought herself one and decided it was too much work, AND I has one of my own I was using so I do not NEED the EM and you convinced me to wait (at least a year!) till I get rid of what I already have.

I've been using the Loreal one. I still use the BM mineral veil and the warmth one, but I just LOVE LOVE the coverage I get with Loreal. I don't like their brush though and still use my BM ones. The price difference isn't too hard to take either. I'm going to give this other one a try too.

For those or you who use this stuff....how the heck do you use it in summer? Or do you? Think Florida in July hot and muggy.

You use it the same way you use it in the winter. I've always used liquid foundation, the mineral products are much lighter and stay on longer and provide sunscreen. I didn't have any problems last summer using this in July in Florida (or at home for that matter).

A dusting of Mineral Veil under the foundation helps when it's humid.

OP, I know some people don't like the shimmeryness of BM. You can get EM in different levels of shimmery/matte. So I know some prefer to get the matte EM. But I do think the majority of women here prefer to use BM.

My best friend uses it and loves it ( bare minerals) we live in South Louisiana... hot and humid here.

Here are the links to Bare Minerals and everyday minerals and L'oreal Minerals on Makeupalley.com I dont buy any new products with out checking here first.
Everyday Minerals seems to have better reviews than B.E. .... BUT not nearly as many people have reviewed the E.M. as compared to B.E.
Ihave never tried the mineral makeup, but will prob start with B.M.s frist if i decide to.

I used to use bm until i found the savy mineral makeup. this stuff is great, and cost a lot less. i find the coverage to be the same if not better then bm also.

I like the Physician's Formula stuff, although I know some don't. I like it better than EM, although the colors I got from EM weren't right, so that may have been some of my problem with it. The reviews at makeupalley were pretty good for the PF stuff.

I use EM and like it a lot- but I haven't ever tried any other brand of mineral makeup. I have the foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadow, and finishing powder. No complaints at all- the colors of the eye shadows are really nice.

I've used Bare Minerals and Everyday Minerals. I prefer Everyday Minerals for two reasons: 1) the price, and 2) the variety of shades that EM offers. They offer shades for 3 different skin tones: warm, cool and neutral. I'm a true neutral light, and BM's light is too warm for me, as well as slightly too dark. This requires me to mix it with Fairly Light, and its still too warm. With EM all I need to do is buy 1 shade and it blends perfectly with my skin. They also offer different finishes, I prefer the matte finish rather than the glow. It works better for my combination/oily skin.

I know other people felt the variety of colors was too daunting to sort through, but I've been using makeup for a long time and I'm pretty good at picking out what works best for me. If BM works for you and you like it, I'd stick with it. If however you are like me and weren't completely satisfied with BM, give EM a try!

Okay after looking at the reviews on Makeup Alley and some of the info I got here I am back to thinking I am going to try EM! I did not know the mineral veil under the foundation trick either. One more question, do any of you use moisturizer and eye cream under the BM? I called the company and they said it goes over the vitimans. OOPS! One more question, do you use the vitimans or anything like it under EM?

I always use moisturizer under my mineral makeup. What I do is get out of the shower and put moisturizer on, and then about 20 minutes later after doing my hair etc, I put the make up on. It seems to be about the right amount of time for me.

I put on moisturizer, eye cream, bare vitamins, then foundation.

I do what Shirley does. I moisturize my face and eyes right out of the shower and wait until after I blow dry my hair before I apply my BM. Gives the moisturizers a chance to soak in. In the summer when the humidity is high I switch to a non-oil based moisturizer for my face, like Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. When I really need moisture, I use the lotion (same brand.) I've only tried the rev-er upper once and preferred my regular moisturizers. did send away for the sample of EM, but didn't care for it was much. Never tried L'Oreal.

Have fun with it!
