I forgot to write this a couple of weeks ago. We were going to do another cruise Jan 3rd but decided to go with an extended stay at WDW. I called for Jan 3rd-8th and EVERY resort was open for booking. I have had this happen before but only for 1 weekend night here or there. EVERY resort!!!! We could believe it. We decided on VWL. We stayed there in May 07 and like it.

That's great! I've never had that happen. I really enjoyed my stay at VWL a few years ago. It's the perfect location for an extended stay. We rented bikes and rode over to Fort Wilderness a few times, and loved the boat rides.

I do believe we will see more availability in both CRO and DVC reservations. The economy is having an affect on WDW.....January probably starts the month where people don't already have airfare purchased.

MLK weekend had availablity everywhere for 2brs at 7 months. Went with a BW view, since I didn't want to look at construction cranes at AKV.

Wow thats some pretty good luck dude congrats :thumbsup2

That's terrific news! What size villa was it for?

Yes, I believe this to be the case. I am going to start a thread on this soon. I was told that 7/3 was slow at BW, but prior to that there were at 100%

So lesson learned here is that if you can afford it, Disney might actually be fun to visit for the near future?

Here at the beach, 2 hr drive from home for most people, it is jam-packed for July 4th. It's the cheap and cheerful vacation choice.

Went to my town fireworks for the first time last week with my neighbors, who said there were definitely more people attending this year than in years past. They also thought more people were there because people are shelving out of town travel.

They had both Studios and 1br rooms

It really was a night supprise and it wasn't even at the exact 7month window either.

Studio's at every resort, this is unreal. I booked BCV's in June for Feb, MS misunderstood me for the dates, she thought I wanted 10 days in a row, for a studio, it was available. I was shocked that all 10 days would be available at 8 months for a studio, at BCV's. I only needed 5 days. Maybe it is the economy. MS said, "there is pleanty of availability."

I called MS today to give up my 2 Bed Standard View at BWV for Jan 6 - 14, 2009 and was hoping for a 1 Bed at BCV but couldn't get it. Only 1 night of my trip was available :confused3 I did get a 1 bedroom at VWL and am Waitlisted for BCV. We have never stayed at the BCV and would love to try it so I am hoping for some pixiedust: and have my very first waitlist request come thru!!!!

I tried calling last week to get a studio for 1/5 - 1/11 and the only availability was at SSR. You got really lucky!

I didn't check the other resorts availabilities, I got my first choice for a 5 night stay in Feb at VWL for a studio. That was a very nice suprise.
