Does anyone have any experience renting Timeshares other than DVC? We are considering a no frills trip in October with dd( 1year) probably do not want to spend much time in the parks...although we might do Mickey's Halloween Party.

A condo with a pool would be great so we are thinking about picking up something off of Skyauction at a discount.

A few things:
>How do I avoid the Timeshare agressive sales people? Do you have to go to a presentation?
>Anyone use Skyauction before?
>Any properties better than others?

Thanks for any advice.

We just booked a 2bdrm condo in Cypress Pointe Grande Villas.
http://www.cypress-pointe.com/
We lloked at different places to book including timeshare rental websites as well as the resorts own website and by far the best price was from www.hotelkingdom.com
So, as you can see because it is a timeshare unit we are renting,we don't actually go through the timeshare owner directly.

We are also going to Cypress Pointe but got it through Skyauction. A 2 bedroom for $260/us a week. We have also been to Orange Lake and Silver Lake which were both good.

You do not have to go to a timeshare presentation. We were not even asked.

We rented a three bedroom two bathroom house the last time we were in Florida. We did a search on the internet, and "found" this house in Kissimmee. It was great, we had our own private pool, a full house. We would eat breakfast there, and stocked up on food, and snacks. We saved a lot in the parks by eating a lot at the house. The family we went with still talk about the house all the time.

We've stayed at Vistana Villages and absolutely loved it. Received about 4 calls during our 2 week stay asking if we wanted to attend their information meeting with the ante eventually reaching $150. but declined. Had planned on going back there this year but WDW's free dining was too good to pass up.
