Dawn, I'm loving your trip report. I've read several of your TRs in the past and I was so happy to see you had another one. I'm always reading TRs but I hardly ever post and I really should come out of lurkdom and post more often and let people know how much I enjoy reading about their adventures, seeing their pictures, videos, etc. You have a great story-telling ability and I really feel like I'm right there with you. I love the relaxed feel of this trip like riding the monorail and playing in the fountains. Seth is getting so big and he is just so cute. You have a very sweet family. Yeah, I think they were there for the Flower & Garden Festival. I didn't see them do anything other than just kind of joke around with people and take pictures. But they were fun!

I know! I felt bad for her, but then again I didn't. I don't get it!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your diner here. It's one of our family favorites. The series of pictures of you with Lydia are a hoot. It did bring a smile to my face. It reminded me of some of our attempts at pictures with groups of people. Someone is always looking somewhere else.

Weren't those pictures funny? Dealing with 2-year-olds trying to get a good picture is always so much fun!

I am still here and loving all your updates. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal at Ohanas. We had a reservation for Ohana on our last trip that I canceled. We have 3 picky eaters (myself and my 2 kids) and I was scared we wouldn't like it. I know my husband would love it, so one day we will have to give it a try.

Thanks so much! I hear they will make special stuff for kids. Luckily since we were staying off property it was easy to get something for Seth and just bring it with us. The regular food was great though. Hope you get to try it next time!

I'm glad that you re-tried Ohana and enjoyed it this time around. There are a lot of restaurants that I still want to try, so a return to Ohana might be a ways off, but we liked it when we ate there and I sure wouldn't mind a plate-ful of those pot stickers right about now.

It was super yummy!! Glad I gave it another shot. So many restaurants, so little time!

I'm still here! I try to post when I read, but it usually feels like most people around the TR boards know each other and I don't want to be an intruder. Not that anyone's made me feel that way whatsoever! Just my own stupid thing.

Anyway...

Love the Ohana update. We have it scheduled for December. I seem to remember the meat being really dry last time I was there. I wasn't really looking forward to it and was thinking about cancelling, but you've convinced me to keep it! That was a great idea to stop and get something else for Seth. Did they give you any problems with bringing in outside food?

Please post any time you like! We are all here for one reason...our love for Disney. And sometimes you might find you have other things in common too! I've made lots of friends here....some in real life and some on the disboards or facebook. I love it when people post, even if it's about random stuff!

Glad you are keeping Ohana. I really hope you like it as much as I did. It was WAY better this time around. No, no problems with outside food at all. The server didn't say one word about it.

I have had good meals at Ohana, and not so good meals, ranging from slow service to meh food. I will go back since the good outweigh the bad.

My disboards time has suffered at work b/c somehow we got a virus from me being on here, so I've avoided it at work. They are really strict about that sort of thing. I'm so glad I gave Ohana another shot. It was awesome! And yes, I concur with everything you said to tinkycheeks!

Hey, guys! Sorry for my short absence. The free dining promotion and a weekend Nashville trip kicked my hiney! And thanks for all your kinds words and encouragement for me to keep going.

Thought I'd share some pics from my trip home to Nashville last weekend.

Playin' some tunes with Grampy (my dad)....



The county fair was going on while I was there so we got in a few rides....





We also had a dismeet! Myself, Seth, Marilyn (a friend and Seth's babysitter this summer) and my mom met up with Erica (Vandyfan10) and her son Will, and Caren (Memom), Jill (Brooklynnsmommy) and Jill's girls, Brooklynn, Bella and Sophie. First we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Here's Bella, Memom, Marilyn and Seth....

And all of us! Look at Seth looking at Sophie. He was really studying her! Wish I had a Dug collar sometimes so I could hear what he's thinking.



After breakfast we headed over to Opry Mills mainly to hit the Disney Store and let the kids play in the play area. Seth and will loved these tops!

Margot (my niece) and Audrey (my stepmom) even stopped by for a visit! Margot was being very shy though. I was hoping she'd play with the kids but she was on Audrey like glue.

We also got some cool new school shoes...the light sabers light up. I swore I'd never get light-up shoes but he loved them so I caved.



It was a fun meet and trip too! Little Sophie was precious (as were Will, Bella and Brooklynn too!). I was holding her after we took pics at Cracker Barrel and when we were splitting up to go get in our respective cars and head to the mall I almost walked off with her. Sorry about that Jill!

Okay, back to the trip!

We are now on our 3rd Disney day, Tuesday, May 21st. Today Mom, Seth and I were heading here....



(Terrie and Joshua had a free day and were sleeping in at the condo.)

We were here during this, but of course this was a Tuesday so no storm troopers on top of buildings or horrid crowds for us....



If Ray had been with us, I may have braved it since he's an avid Star Wars fan. But he wasn't, so we didn't.

There's my favorite blue hat covered in yellow stars!



We stopped for some photopass pictures (I have no idea what Seth is looking at in these! ).....

Super cute movie we'd see about a month later.....

You guessed it.....straight to TSM we went for fastpasses. I grabbed them and we browsed the gift shop just across the way from the FP kiosks, then we headed back the way we had come.

A fairly new attraction...I think this was added last year?

We had a 9:30-ish reservation with some Disney Junior pals at Hollywood & Vine. This was a first for all of us! I checked us in while Mom and Seth strolled nearby....



Then Mom took a bench near the door while Seth and I walked around Echo Lake. He loves to look at the water and the ducks!











Notice that stick in his hand? I think I forgot to mention (or maybe I didn't?) that Mom bought that for him the night before. While we were waiting to be sat at Ohana, she ran into a gift shop and bought it. It's just a little stick that blinks different colors and he LOVES that thing. Still plays with it all the time!

We were called to our table pretty quickly and we didn't even get settled yet before Special Agent Oso showed up!



I forgot to take a picture of my plate before I started eating, but here's some of it....

I don't know why Seth wasn't in a dancing mood that day. Maybe it was stage fright or just the shock of Jake or Manny being right in front of him. But my dude is usually a dancing machine. I took this the other night during So You Think You Can Dance....watch out, Justin Bieber!



So we had finished eating and dancing, and we hadn't met Jake yet. I started looking around realized he had over half a restaurant to go before he got to us. We must have JUST missed him before we sat down. So we had to wait awhile before we saw Jake, but he's the reason I booked that reservation so I wasn't gonna miss him. Finally after endless games on my phone and a diaper change, he was there to visit us!





I did like this breakfast but I probably won't be back for awhile unless Seth is just REALLY into any of those characters. I wasn't really that impressed with the food. It wasn't bad - I just liked Cape May and Ohana breakfasts better.

Next update.....fun with Disney puppets!

Our 4 month old baby had a bit of a poo explosion and I remember you telling us about the same thing happening with Margot when she was tiny!

I think all babies have poo explosions at some point. Seth had his fair share too!

I looooooved the Butterbeer. Seth loves those sneakers too. I wish I had a video of him stomping in them when he first got them. It was pretty funny. Yeah, I didn't know who those characters were either before Seth came along, so I totally understand! Don't worry...you're not missing much.
