I have not seen much posted the last few days on Everest. We are heading over Fri and Sat and were hoping to ride. We are AP holders but I am curious if it is up and running.

We were there Feb 19th to March 5th. We flew down from Calgary with an actual Everest Climber that was going to WDW to do the Grand Opening of Expedition Everest. They have had the grand opening, but I heard from a AK staff that it was doing a soft opening (?) until June. Not sure exactly what "soft opening" means, but it was open while we were there and what a blast! It is a don't miss, if you're in to those wild roller coaster type of rides!

We were there 3/9 to 3/14 and it was running most of the time then. We were at AK on 3/13 and it was running at 8 am in time for early entry. Then it broke down around 10, but it was up and running again within about 30 minutes or so. We LOVED the ride. I'm somewhat of a whimp and ds is a thrillseeker and we both thought it was fantastic.

Let me respectfully correct what Wanda Dance posted above: The official opening is April 7. The ride is not yet OFFICIALLY open.

It is in "soft opening," which as Safety Mom posted above, means that it will be open MUCH of the time but not ALL of the time. Ther is no way of knowing for sure if it will be open at the point that you are there, unless you go on April 7 or later.

Just got off the phone with my sister-in-law, who was saying good night to her two sons in their bunkbeds at WL. She said they went Monday morning and rode it 4 times, basically in a row.

Apparently is was open Monday. But, the others are correct, it is in soft opening stage. Not official until April. Sure hope it's open when we go in 11 days.

My brother in law went this afternoon. He only had a 20 min wait (single rider line) at 2PM. He said the CMs said it was open almost all the time but may close off-and-on in coming weeks for publicity shoots.
