Everest ~ Non DVC riding w/members

Well, I would think some of this has "dried" up since it's now an AP deal too.

We are going only for this preview. If everyone that is allowed to go, DVC or annual pass, brought guests, it would just make the lines longer. I'm trying to put a quick trip together, and I'm having trouble with renting some extra points for the last night. I'm worried about availability when the points finally get into my account because of all the other people who are going for this event.

DVC members may ride accompanied by 3 guests. For APs it is restricted to passholders only.

Sorry, but "if you bring guests it'll make the lines longer..." okay. I guess it will. I suppose they could have restricted it further, say, to immediate family members of DVC cardholders, but imagine them having to check THAT at the turnstile.

I have no problems with bringing others on the sneak peek ride with you after all isn't Disney about making dreams come true and all that.

Does anyone know if you have to show your blue member card, or if a room card with DVC Member is ok?

(I lost my blue card a number of years ago, but haven't replaced it. I have my ex-husband's old card, which I could give to DH, but would they check ID as well?)

Would they honestly close the attraction to all but DVC anyway? It seems like they would let anyone on if the ride was running and the line didn't have very many people in it. I understand your frustration but we really didn't have any kind of fight for this perk...they just gave it to us (as well as the AP holders). I guess my attitude is that everyone goes to WDW for one thing, to have fun...and I try to not sweat the small stuff.
Actually, yes, they do close it to everyone else. We went to an AP preview of Asia (I think that was the one) a few weeks before they opened that part of AK. The entrance was cordoned off with planters and there were CM's at the one break in the plant wall checking for AP's for every person entering. Upon entering they had a light breakfast (pastries, doughnuts, juice, coffee) laid out for us to enjoy as we checked out the new area. They weren't going to give a free breakfast to everyone in the park that day....

For the EE opening, I think I read each person attending is getting a lanyard and pin gift so I DO believe they will be checking and only allowing admission to those who are supposed to be there.

As they say, membership has it's privileges! :teeth:

We went to the Stitch's Great Escape preview. Since this attraction is right in the middle of Tomorrowland, lots of non-DVC, non-AP people asked if they could get in, and they were told no. There weren't any gifts handed out, either.
