We're heading to the World in a few days and the forecast looks fairly rainy. I was thinking of picking up a couple of Ziploc Big Bags so I could stash the diaper backpack and my camera backpack in case of a downpour. Have you used them before? Are they big enough? If you carried them around, was it worth it? I'd rather be safe than sorry with DDs diapers and my nice camera. Thanks!

I used them when we went....it was so nice not to have worry. It didn't rain on us once though, :lmao:. I also found it nice to be able to pull the ziploc out and bag check and they could see everything really quickly.

Well, if you plan to wear ponchos then the bags should remain completely dry under your poncho. That's what we did when we hit showers - took the bags off the stroller and just wore them under our ponchos.

The ziploc bags sound like a great idea. I've heard the security check points appreciate being able to see everything! I don't know if you're going w/ a stroller, but if you are get a stroller rain cover before you go. I think you can get them for less than $20 at TRU/BRU. Mine kept everything in the stroller dry, kids and basket underneath.

I bought the HUGE ziploc bags from dollar tree. The only thing I carry at the parks is a large camera bag. Inside I have my big ziploc and it works like a charm. I even brought small ziplocs for eveyone to put their cell phones in. Those items are a big investment and one water ride could do you in.

One of the best tips I received from reading the boards was to pack the kids clothes in gallon ziploc bags for each day. I did this for our last trip. We had 2 kids. I packed shorts, underwear, socks, shirts, barrets etc for each day. Gave each child their bag and they would start to dress themselves. This way I also knew they matched. (yes a little OCD here, but love to take pics)... Then I would use the bag for the day to put my map and whatever items I picked up that day for my scrapbook.

I always put stuff in plastic bags inside the backpack. Florida always has a rain shower and as for ponchos get them at Wal-mart, enough to throw them away the end of each day.

We pack things inside our bag in ziploc bags. If it were to suddenly pour rain, we'd be covered. If we dropped a bag in a puddle, we'd be covered. That way, you don't have to worry about finding a dry place and putting a bag over your bag. We have a bag for DH's camera/supplies, DD's diapers, and kids' extra clothes. Everything else is not a big deal if it gets wet, so then we can take our time putting the bag under our poncho our stroller cover.
