I havr never done it but we are trying to squeeze in a trip this month. Everything is higher prices since its so close so i am curious if one of these hotel bidding sites might be a better option?

Or are there hotels that are cheaper but still good but not as known? So may be available still? Our dates are oct 20th through the 25th :)

Its our first trip and probably only for several year so im trying to do it as best as posssible with the little bit we have for it :)

I recommend Priceline ONLY if it's two adults as that's all they "guarantee". You can use Hotwire for 4 people total I think but keep in mind any third party does not always keep the guarantees as it's at the hotel's discretion.

I typically advise using Orbitz since you can choose your room type and some offer an extra 15% off. There are definitely some options but expect the closest motels to be booked by now.
If you are already driving also consider Buena Park and Placentia as it is close but about 10-20 minutes drive but opens up less expensive options too.

I use TripAdvisor religiously to assist in checking.

I also just booked the "Disney on Us" Package at Wyndham Garden Grove and it's a goiod value for a family and has suites available !

Priceline also has a service called Express deals that works similarly to Hotwire. Also check LMTClub.com (search google for a free membership), where hotel rates are oftentimes as good as the bidding sites.

Bidding is an ok idea if you simply want to get a room in a particular area...

Sites out there will generally tell you what hotel you're bidding on, but never a guarantee.
A three star hotel could be one star in your mind, etc, etc.

I've used priceline and hotwire many times over the years with great success. The only issue I've ever had was with a car rental earlier in the year with National car rental via priceline. I'LL never rent another car with them again but for hotels I will likely do it again but only under certain conditions.

If you are going to bring your pets or you feel you must be directly in front of the opening gate you should not use a bidding service like priceline or hotwire. If you just want a nice hotel near disneyland and that is all, then you should go the priceline/hotwire route.

If you do wish to bid I urge you to not go it blind and hope for the best. I suggest you go to betterbidding.com or something similar and read those forums and post questions their with your concerns. They very often know which hotel you will get within one or two places so you can make a more informed decision. And yes you can save a lot of money but just know the tax rate on hotels is around 17-19% now so that will add significantly to your final price and most area hotels also charge a parking charge of 4 to 15 dollars per night.

Not all places do this but I just want you to be fully informed. With the knowledge you can get from betterbidding.com you can then investigate any fees the hotel may charge. If I were in your situation I'd do it. It is worth the savings but do your due diligence and fully investigate it you go ahead with it. Good Luck.
