Ever take a Indoor grill or Crock Pot?

....The villas have kitchens w/ ovens and ranges to be used in much the same manner as the griddler, the griddler however, creates less heat, less smoke and uses a lot less energy!

I totally agree with this. But the OP was talking about a studio which does not have a hood/exhaust fan like the one bedroom or larger.

So, if there's no exhaust fan in the "kitchen area" of a studio, why not open the bathroom door and use THAT exhaust fan?

We used our Foreman in a studio before without a problem. Chicken, steak, grilled cheese were all made on the grill. No smoke, no issue. By the way, you can make french toast on a Foreman, in case you want to know :)

The GF grills are good but a pain in the butt to clean.

No problem cleaning ours..when done...put a wet paper towel(s), or cloth whatever...on it...let it cool a little not completely and it pretty much wipes clean. Just a general tip.

I was wondering if anyone ever took a indoor grill or crock pot or something similar in a studio? PLease share recipes or a meal idea if you have one! :goodvibes

I just bought a Cuisinart Gourmet Griddler at a great deal at Costco with the intention of making Marinated grilled chicken kabobs, burgers, paninis and eggs/pancakes in the room to cut down on some costs.

I was planning on doing the same thing. We're spending 3 weeks in a studio and no way can we eat out everynight. Trying to figure out what else will fit in my suitcase. Maybe a toaster oven or crock pot.

When I said it "barely smoked" it was very, very little and that's only because it is brand new and the directions said that it might smoke a little with first use. I am sure if you do not watch whatever is cooking it can burn. What's great about this appliance is that the non stick plates come off for easy washing!

Don't worry people...I love my DVC too. If the smoke alarm happens to go off (which I am sure it won't)...I won't use it again. Don't want to burn my second home down. :)

I've brought a small grill and have made grilled cheese sandwiches. DH would just buy some food at counter services, but when I travel with DF/DSis I like to make something and stay in sometimes.

Bobbi:goodvibes

Since the studios have a toaster and a microwave you can also make BLT sandwiches with that pre-cooked bacon that you nuke for a few seconds! Easy peasey! You can even make club sandwiches.:thumbsup2

On our last trip, we stayed at a studio. I packed a long electric griddle. Flipped upside down, it layed flat on the bottom of my suitcase. Didn't weigh much either.

I didn't use it as much as planned. I did make some grilled cheese for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. Only so many huge meals a person can take (or afford).
