If you've ever surprised your spouse with a WDW vacation how did you do it? How did it go over and would you reccommend it? I'm not quite ready to yet, but I'm considering surprising DH when the time comes.

:scratchin

I surprised my husband last year for his 35th birthday. I told him on March 23rd and we left on April 1st. I decorated a paint can and put on the top. Where are you going on April 1st and when he opened the can it said Disney. I had typed out our itinerary and put in a new tee shirt. I had called his boss in January to get him the time off
It was really hard to keep the secret. I almost blew it a few times.

The hardest part was having so little time to pack. I usually start a few weeks early and do a little everyday....but it was worth it. This year we are not telling our 4 year old we are going until the morning of.

I surprised DH with a short week-end trip to the beach for his 40th but a trip to WDW for our family involves too much money for me to use without his knowing. The week-end trip was great. We had everything in the car trunk and told him we were going for a drive and did not tell hime till we were about a hour away from home and then gave him tickets to a concert that was at the beach. He was shocked. He kept asking if I had packed this or that. If money was not a object, then I would love to do a surprise WDW trip too.

I've worked diligently at stowing away our "coupon savings" for the past year and a half. I do pretty good at bargain shopping (he does not), so as incentive, if I save a couple bucks on a grocery order the difference goes into my vacation jar.

He's aware of the fund, but has no idea how much is in it. I'd like to surprise him with a trip to a deluxe resort so I figure it'll be a couple more months before there's enough there.

Bonus is now he'll see that coupon savings really do add up!
