Ok, the younger people might not even know what I'm talking about. I remember begging the folks for change at the local arcade, Showbiz Pizza or Chuck E Cheese, back when paying 50 cents for a game was unheard of.

From what I understand arcades are slowly going the way of the buffalo.

Anyway, if your constant begging for quarters meant less vacations & a not-so-great college - here's something that oughta make you feel better (or worse):
Quarterless Pacman

Here's Space Invaders For Good Measure

Now if only I could find Galaga or Donkey Kong... *sigh*

Enjoy. :)

I was addicted to pacman at one time :teeth:
Just played a game, but didn't do so well manuvering with the arrows!!

I never could get the hang of donkey kong! Too much hand eye coordination for my brain! ;) Loved PacMan, Galaga and Centipedes!

Not Pacman fever, but I have had the Boogie Fever, where I just had to boogie down :teeth:

I used to enjoy Space Invaders some, liked the 'Jaws-like' music it had, LOL. There was one game I really liked, a space-like game, that had designs similar to spider webs, that progessively got faster and more complicated. It was the only game that captured me for more than 10 minutes or so at a time, but never have been able to recall its name.

Thanks for those links! I love a lot of those games out there!! Really missed playing them!

My favorite was Pitfall Harry!!!

I LOVED Space invaders, pac man and its off spring of games!!:p , centpede, millipede, donkey kong , Q bert, galaga!!!

spent many Saturday nights at a local restaurant playing Space Invaders!! while my parents enjoyed themselves!!! the owners nephew and I would sit at the game and play against each other or by ourselves!!

the owner of the restaurant for my high scholl graduation gave me the hand held version of Space invaders and played that til it broke!!!!

hey,
If any of you have PS 2, there is a game called Namco Museum- It has Pacman,Ms.Pacman, Galaxian, Galaga, Digdug,Pole Position, and Pole Position II on it in the original arcade format. It brings back a lot of memories.:)

I miss the 1980's.

Back when I was a teenager, I worked as a cashier at a truckstop and on my breaks or off time, I loved to play Space Invaders, Ms. PacMan - but my all time favorite was pinball machines!

DH and I still love to plug quarters into pinball machines whenever we spy one in arcades, etc.!:p

had the pacman bug so bad that I had a smaller version of the arcade game -- could carry it with me - plug into car lighters and the whole thing -- I was hooked

Oh my! I just downloaded Centipede....nothing like a new addiction, is there?:)
Kim

Q Bert and Megamania were my favorites!!
I could play them for hours
We still have a system and many games , but the controllers don't work very well :(
