Ever ship a box to your DVC <BCV>?

Have you ever shipped a box of "supplies" to your DVC namely the BCV?

I was planning on shipping down a box of dry goods... such as snacks, batteries, film, diapers, extra shoes, rain ponchos, laundry / dishwasher tabs, Atkins Bars, whatever I can fit in the box so we can do less luggage on the plane. ( I was almost tempted to ship our stroller too... lol )

I have shipped to the Dolphin before without any problems.... and I have had a box shipped to the All-Stars once for a business trip....

How far in advance should I plan on delivery?

When I have shipped to BCV or BWV I use UPS Ground. I plan to have my box arrive the day before I arrive or the day of arrival if I am coming in late and mark it with "HOLD FOR (my name) CHECKING IN ON (my arrival date)". UPS can tell you exactly how many days it will take - from here in NH I think it's 4 days.

The only time I had any problem was this my last trip to BWV - for some reason there was no one around to deliver it the day I got there. That was an unusual situation, and if I had pushed it, I am sure I would have gotten it. But I was already in easy-going vacation mode , so I just waited until the next day.

wdwstar was gracious enough last Christmas to organize a Xmas Tree exchange and so I sent a tree down to the BCV. I sent it UPS and it arrived fine for the first family. We arrived 4 weeks later and the bell desk told us twice it was not waiting. It took a personal visit to the bell desk and a very nice CM to find it. I do believe there were others at the other resorts that also had some problems with the tree exchange. That is the only experience we have had sending something down.

I've sent surprise treats from Popcorn Factory etc to be enjoyed while we were at the resorts and all has gone very smoothly. Just make sure they hold it in the name that the reservation is made in. The CM's called when it arrived and we picked it up and enjoyed the treat!
