Ever saw a scary movie that REALLY scared you?

I've never seen the Exorcist. I remember as a little girl my mother being so shaken up by it when she saw it. She had to sleep with the light on for a week. I decided that was a creepy place I didn't want to visit, so I've always avoided it.

I much prefer comedies.

I am terrified of The Exorcist. My friend played the video during a Jr. High Halloween sleepover. We never made it throgh the whole thing. Years later my boyfriend wanted to watch the movie and I figured I'd outgrown that fear, but I was wrong! I'm so sorry I ever watched that movie. The music alone freaks me out now.

or in some movies you'll see the 'bad guy' walking weird and they cut the film so he's a bit farther up then he should be (like in the remake of House on Haunted Hill). It really makes me sick almost... I guess I'm weird like that.

ooohhh...
I tell you what, in the movie "Jacob's Ladder", which is fantastic btw with Tim Robbins, there is a scene where a person a convulsing with his head & body in a car.
Now that gives me "the willies".::yes::

Silence of the Lambs- that movie totally creeped me out!

One thing is ZOMBIES! I don't know why, I like zombie movies and all, but they just get in my head (haha.) Something about the fact that they just kill without thinking. I often think to myself, "What would I do if zombies attacked right now?!"

Throw your record collection at them!

(Didn't anyone ever see Shaun of the Dead? :confused3 )

"Clareeeeeeece......I ate his liver with fartha beans and a nice keantee fffffsstttttttttttt"

Practical Magic disturbed me. I'm not sue why though...just the whole demonic thing. As a kid Cujo scared me. I don't like horror movies anymore either. Dh and I were just talking about this the other day.. I guess we're getting old! The psychological thrillers scare me too. Like Sleeping with the Enemy.

Oh, my!! Reading everyone post is bringing back all those scary memories.

Does anyone remember "The Prince of Darkness"? It's a John Carpenter movie.... in fact all of his movies scare the bejezzus outta me! Ohhhh.... how about "The Serpent and the Rainbow"? Scary stuff, that John Carpenter!!!

Currently, I am seeking therapy from watching The Grudge and The Exoricism of Emily Rose. Both equally haunting and visually frightening. I don't recommend them, unless you can easily delete visuals from your mind. The Japanese version of The Grudge, is wayyyyy more frightening than the Sarah Michelle Gellar one. I still have to sleep with the hall light on and cannot have any limbs hanging over the bed when I go to sleep.

Yeah, I'm 34 years old, so???? :rotfl2:

You know, I'm sure I'm gonna regret posting this, as the tag fairy is always around, but as a kid, nothing was scarier than the Oompa Loompas on Charlie & the Chocolate Factory...the original version. I watch it now and wonder what the heck was I thinking?!?

Not the ommpa loompa but the trippy scene on the boat used always freak me out i still cannot watch it

No and I love John Carpenter...this is going into Netflix.:lmao:

I used to LOVE all scary movies but now they do nothing for me! I watch every single scary movie that comes down the pike and they really do not scare me. I am to the point where I wont watch it if has a rating below R!! I havent seen one in year's that has truly scared me. Hostel which everyone said was horrifying. Nope thought it was soooooo lame!! It was more porno than anything! Any suggestions??? :confused3

I am an avid horror movie fan, but the one that freaks me out each and every time is Hellraiser, and all the sequels. *shudder* My best friend, when we were roommates, used to love to follow me around clicking her teeth together like one of those Cenobites. :scared1:

I seriously agree with you about Hostel. BIG letdown! I thought I was going to see things that would have me twisting and turning in my seat. Yet it was so lame!
Honestly, I watched this movie on SciFi that was called "Rest Stop" the other day and it was pretty good. DH and I watched it because we thought it was going to be SO CHEESY! It ended up being more gory than hostel was and kind of interesting and creepy. Of course it had it's cheesy moments. The unrated DVD came out last week I think. Judging by how graphic and gory (not any nudity really) the TV version was I can't imagine what the DVD is like. Rent it and try it out. You might be somewhat entertained.

Thanks :thumbsup2 I'll have to give it a try.

I can't remember if I posted here before, and if I did, I'm too lazy too look!

But if I did, I would have said that Exorcist scared me the most. I saw it when I was 18, and the dollar theater was showing it on the big screen for Halloween. It scared me so bad I was crying.

In recent years I also saw Exorcist 3. That one scared me a lot too!

 popcorn:: how about Phantasom??? my spelling is proably off......saw that as a kid....scary...........
I saw that by accident at a friends house. It was one of those sleepovers where you see who can stay up the longest. *raises hand* That would be me. My friend was asleep next to me and I was too scared to get up to turn the tv off. I'm still afraid of mirrors because of the thought that someone's reflection is in it behind me.

as a teen in the 80's i loved horror movies and enjoyed reading stephen king novels but now i can't even watch the previews to Grudge 2 or Saw the suffering...the imaginary seems too disturbing.

I was waiting to see if someone would mention that one. It still creeps me out, and it has been like 15 years since I first saw it. I don't think I've every watched the whole thing. The TV screen at the end... EEK!!

Kind of but not a movie.

I seen the Disney Weddings Show on the travel channel and my wife said she hoped our daughter would want to get married there.

I just keep seeing me having to work forever to pay for it. :teeth:

The Shining, from beginning to end, gives me the creeps. There's something so scarey about that kid riding that big wheel tricycle down the halls of that empty hotel.
