ever lose the room while making ressie?

Dear Everyone:

This has happened to me twice in the last week, i was on with dvc member services, and twice they had the room i wanted and twice, by the time the transaction was ready to be completed, the room was gone.

What gives?

Not fast enough. When they offered it to you, someone else may have already offered it to another guest and it was gone. What time period are you trying to reserve? Or what room location/type?

I am beginning to believe that the new system has a glitch, this happened to me twice in one phone call just today. The CM told me that it has been happening frequently and she told me to call back later today and check again because she is just sure that the night that was missing was available.

Their system is a complete mess right now. Most of my points seem to be all over the place except where they are suppose to be. They asked me to wait until next week and hopefully some repairs to the system will happen over the weekend. I'm not happy right now with MS.

I called them back to see if the ressie I wanted was available, earlier it disappeared on me, and I had waitlisted for it. Five hours later, my waitlist had a match! I booked it and I have a confirmation number. I hope I don't lose it!!

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago, Ms & I couldnt figure it out.
Just as you said OP , it happened at the very end when MS was finalizing my ressie and to give me my conf. #, it was gone.

I have been calling day by day for 2 -2 bedroom units at BCV with 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom. On my 5th day of calling I double checked and it appears that both reservations have been cancelled! It is such a mess! I suspect that when all is said and done some peoples reservations are not going to be what they expected. I will raise the roof if I called everday at 9:59 am exactly 11 mths out and did not get what they had told me I had. I am becoming a basket casee, can you tell?

Just called MS to check on our ressie and waitlist and they said the system is down. Hopefully they are repairing things.

I need to ask a question that sort of fits here. We are booked at SSR the last week of October. My family wants to see if there is anything available at VWL for that week. We don't have any points left. Just the ones used on the SSR ressie. I'm under the impression that MS will have to cancel that reservation before booking anything at VWL (if there's availability). Is there a chance that we could lose both rooms in the process of all of this? I really want to stay put at SSR so if this could happen I need to inform the rest of them of this risk. They'd kill me if we lost everything and had no vacation left to plan for. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I've had this happen a couple of times in the last few years (not recently) and i've always been able to pick the day up later.

I highly doubt that at 7 months out you would lose the opportunity to book the SSR reservation again, if by some chance the VWL ressie disappears. I hope that doesn't happen, and if you had to, just waitlist for the whole VWL ressie, if you do it soon as soon as possible, I think (hope) you'll be OK!

It was only a studio, but today I just "moved" a BWV studio ressie over to VWL for the nights of Oct. 27th, 28th and 29th. I waited until the 7 month mark from check out day, and all went fine.

Thanks Bobbi. I guess I'll call and see if there's a 2 bedroom lock-off available at VWL for our dates then. Doesn't hurt to ask I guess. Maybe I'll make sure there are still plenty of them left at SSR before they cancel our reservation. LoL I appreciate your help.
