We had a 5:25 ADR last night - with Candlelight package for 8:15 show. Yup - Christmas Eve! We were so excited! Got to Rose &Crown at 5:20 (expecting to wait - they always have us wait) and they couldn't find our reservation! I was trying to stay pretty calm - I had our confirmation with me. But inside I was freaking out. They said they couldn't look us up by confirmation # and would treat us as a walk-up but honour our CP booking and give us the passes at the end of the meal. The second host was back and forth through the restaurant and managed to figure out that someone had checked in ahead of us under our name! He said it was just an honest mistake as they had a similar name. Ummm...Even the other host didn't believe that one! My last name is Italian (fairly unusual name) and my first name is very very old Gaelic Irish. I've only known one other with my first name and she was in Ireland.
Very annoying. 30 minute wait while it was sorted and we were finally seated.

How disturbing!
I haven't run into that, but I did have someone else cancel an ADR and then I couldn't get the same place and time back. First they insisted it had to be someone from my house when I KNEW it wasn't. Then they said someone must have transposed the reservation number, but then don't people usually confirm?
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
How was the Candlelight Processional package? I am on the fence about it next year.

Commenting out of Nosy-ness. LOL I took have an Irish first name, and old Gaelic Irish Middle name...and Italian last name!!! lol!

My daughter was going to be named Siobhan but too many people can't say it right so it's her middle name. *MY* Middle name is Mavourneen. When I was in Ireland last year, it showed up on all my documents and the locals were loving it, saying its not often they see a visitor with that name :thumbsup2

I did have a problem with mistaken identity when I created a MDE account for my fiancé last year. It said his email was all ready registered, so I played around with the system a bit, and had a "forgot my password" email sent out. As soon as I got into the pre-existing MDE account, I knew it wasn't his! His email is his first initial, last name at hotmail.com and it was registered to a 42-year old woman in Washington! He has had that email for years, so I thought that to be strange. Anyways, I could see all her personal information (DOB, address, name)...maybe a little strange...

Years ago before current credit card hold policy and with a "real reservation" we showed up at Garden Grille in Epcot. We gave our name which is unusual in spelling and pronunciation and waited. By the time we got up to the podium after hearing what we thought was our name someone else had claimed the reservation. Their name wasn't even close to ours and I had the reservation # to prove it. I was NOT happy to say the least but they gave us the next available table which I insisted be as good as the group who took our table's location was. Disney came through and apologized. The only thing in common the other party had as I could see at the podium was the first letter "M"! Even the number in the their party was different.

Years ago, at a non-Disney restaurant, my two brothers and their dates were waiting for a table. When the host called for "Smith, party of four," for the final time, they hopped up and took the reservation. The restaurant manager actually came to the table and asked them to leave when the real "Smith, party of four" showed up. They never did that again.

My DD # 2 is named Siobhan, my DH loves the name and he insisted on it :goodvibes

Now to the post. Thats awful.. I would have been upset too. Glad you did get seated in the end :)

I have had others read the reservation list if it was a printout and claim to be someone who had gotten there early.
