The dr said I have it and I don't play tennis. :lmao:

I don't know how I did it but it's quite uncomfortable especially for me because I'm a service tech and use my hands (and lift things) at work.

I bought one of those bands that go around my upper forearm and that seems to help quite a bit.

No, but my DH just found out he has reverse tennis elbow. He got a cortizone shot 2 weeks ago that did wonders.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Not laughing at you Charade. You made me remember a very funny story.

My 2nd son was a big baby (9 lbs at birth) so when he was a toddler,he was always demanding to be picked up. I developed "Tennis elbow" from lifting my son (we call him "Hoss" after Dan bloker from Bonanza, so you have an idea of what he looks like at 16. :faint: ).

I tease him now that I'm probably the only person who developed "tennis elbow" without ever picking up a racket. :rotfl:

Feel better soon pixiedust:

It's just a term for tendinitis involving the forearm up to the attachment at the elbow on the lateral side. Has nothing to do with whether or not you play racquet sports, although it can be a common injury. Treatment is the same as for any soft tissue inflammation R.I.C.E.....

Rest

Ice

Compression (like a compression bandage)

Elevation (if there's swelling)

It also helps to take advil, alleve or a prescribed antinflammatory.

Acupuncture helps tennis elbow a lot.

Had it. Wore the band religiously. Don't have any problems (right now). Good luck. The band worked wonders for me!

I have it, in my case it is a naging thing, it will get better and then come back. I end up with about 1 cortizone shot per year it seams when if flares up. It will hurt like hell for a couple of days after the shot, but then your pain will go away.

However, the shot doesn't fix the problem, you need to do arm exersizes to streach out those tendons that have gotten too tight on you.

I have it too--know how? Hanging my arm over the bed at night:rolleyes:
Chiropractor excercises it and that helps...cortisone shots are an option but I am holding off for awhile if I can.

I play tennis regularly and at one point had acquired "pitcher's" elbow, but not tennis elbow.
