A few years ago I dreamed a prisoner was being put to death and I had a short conversation with him. Nothing profound, just along the lines of he's ready, tell his family he loves them etc. The next morning I read a story in the newspaper about an inmate that had been executed late the night before. I hadn't heard about it on the news prior. Cue Twilight Zone music.

Last night I dreamed (is it dreamed or dreamt?) that a huge earthquake hit the West Virginia/Kentucky area and that a parking garage collapsed as a result. So if that actually happens, you heard it here first!! Now if only I could dream the winning lottery numbers.

Anyone else ever have dreams like this or am I just a freak?

That one with the prisoner sounds kind of creepy, Shugardrawers.

And, nope, you're not a freak. I had one that's legendary in the town where I used to live because it did come true about 3 years later.

I dreamt that my dd was a cheerleader at a football game. When I was looking in the stands, I saw my ex sitting there cuddling with a blonde woman and they had several kids with them. I went to talk to him and he was rude and mean to me. I woke up so angry that I hit my ex while he was still asleep and was mad at him for a whole morning.

He thought this story was hysterical and told all our friends and his "blonde girlfriend" became a huge joke. One woman friend even wore a blonde wig to a party, claiming to be his mystery woman.

Three years later, my ex had an affair with a blonde woman with three kids. I found out when I was getting ready to go to a football game where my 7 year old dd was a "cheerleader." Everyone who knew us (including me) was shocked because my ex was known for being incredibly faithful. When my ex-MIL (who hated me) found out, she told me, "Well, he would never do a thing like that. He thinks the sun doesn't shine till you get up."

I hadn't put the dream together with my situation until my girlfriend who'd worn the blonde wig reminded me.

Now I pay attention to my dreams. I've had similar things happen several times.

I've had several, but the most important was a few days before my mom passed away. I had a dream I went to the hosp to see her (she wasn't in the hosp really at the time). A woman stopped me said "Your mom isn't here, she's at Lebers (local funeral home where her wake was indeed held)." The horrific grief I felt at that moment was SO real. I told the woman "No, she's here. I'm going to call her." I picked up a phone and called my mom who said to me "I"m so tired. I'm falling, I'm falling." That weekend she passed away in the hospital...a few hours prior she HAD FALLEN in the bathroom and when the nurse put her back she said I"m so tired. I woke up from this dream crying and went to see my mom that night because it had me so upset. It was way too "real'.
At the SAME EXACT time mom's heart (I looked at the clock and later looked at her records) stopped I bolted up in bed so fast I woke DH, He said what's wrong? I said "I don't know. I had a dream I couldn't breathe."

My cousin was very young at the time (under 5) and she woke up one night hysterical. She kept saying her eyes were in the clouds and wouldn't stop crying. All of a sudden she stopped crying, said everything is alright now, and went back to sleep. My Aunt got a call the next morning saying that her sister had tryed to commit suicide and was in the hospital. When she got to the hospital the sister said it was weird after she took the pills, "like my eyes were in the clouds". My Aunt had to walk out of the room because she was so freaked out about it. I truly believe!!

I had a dream when I was in high school that my pet rabbit died "because it couldn't hop". At the time I thought that was a stupid dream - especially since the only reason given why it died was "because it couldn't hop".

About 3 weeks later, I went to the pen and the bunny couldn't move it's back legs. We took it to the vet and it had to be put down. It has something wrong with it's spine and ended up dieing "because it couldn't hop". This really freaked me out at the time.

I have dreams occationally where I am talking with someone and at a later time it actually happens - I am sitting there thinking - wait a minute, we have already talked about this. Sometimes I can't remember if conversations happened in real life or in a dream - I end up asking my friends, didn't we already discuss this?

Its weird you posted this. Last night I had a weird dream...some guy was standing over my bed, lit a cigarette, and said 'we'll have to take some fingers'. It freaks me out to just type this. I woke up, looked around, and could not go back to sleep. DH was sleeping next to me. The guy looked like a father of a boy DD goes to school with. It really creeped me out. It was quiet in the house and I kept looking for stuff and listening for noises. Finally fell asleep an hour later.

So, I don't know if I'm watching too much Lost, or the fact that this dad (the one the guy in my dream looked like) accidentally ran into DH & DD at a sporting event this week. Weird though!

Wow, that's amazing.

I sure HOPE my dream from last night doesn't come true. I dreamt that my SIL kidnapped me. I had a cell phone and DH and my DMom knew about it, but nobody could help me.
Maybe I should call her to make sure she and her kids are ok?

Yes...but they are always about nonsense things.

I dreamt I went to this weird dairy queen that was out in the middle of the woods with my aunt that I had not seen since I was in second grade.

Low and Behold, a month or so later, we accidently run into said aunt in alaska and she takes me for a drive, where we wind up stopping at the same dairy queen in the woods, that I had never seen before.

Only a couple times and I *hate, hate, hate* when it happens because it's always something freaky/bad!!!

One time I had a weird dream about a funeral, didn't know who the funeral was for, couldn't see any faces, just knew it was a funeral type of thing, saw the casket but from a low angle, so couldn't see who was in it (as if I was sitting down and everyone else was standing).

The next day I got a phone call my aunt & uncle had been in a bad car accident that night, my uncle died, they weren't sure if my aunt was going to survive.

Then, it wasn't a dream but a fleeting thought one time I was watching a talk show and they were talking to murder victims families and how they were dealing with it, etc... I had a brief weird thought that just popped out of no where in my head that is something we hadn't had to deal with (we have dealt with a lot of other issues in my family - practically all of them in life!)...within a day or two, found out my MIL had been murdered.

THANKFULLY, I have not have any more of those type of things for a very long time but whenever I get anything remotely close to that I try to block it out if possible because it's never anything GOOD! No one ever wins the lottery or has a baby or gets married or happy events. If they were happy events it would be nice.

Not exactly...
However, for years now, I always have strange feelings that I've done the exact same thing before - or been in the same place... kinda like I'm picking up where I left off ~ only it feels very vivid and real To the point that I'm sure there is "something" to it!!!! It's totally bizarre, I know!
