My 16 year old DS said the funniest thing to me today. He said " I woke up in the middle of the night with a horse cramp!" :lmao: I started cracking up and said " do you mean a charlie horse?" :lmao:

I love my DS. He keeps me young and :rotfl:

No horse cramps.
But, man, I used to get charlie horses all the time when I was growing up.

oohhhh, I get them when I'm pregnant. Ouch.

heeeheee horse cramp, that is funny.

That is funny.:rotfl:

I got those several times a night growing up...My son is experiencing this now. More calcium.

Potassium and fluids will help with the Charlie Horses .

As far as the Horse Cramps try Midol but the big ones for horses.

I just wanted to share something I recently discovered by accident (everybody else in the world may already know it, but I didn't ;)).

From time to time I get those cramps in my calves, and it hurts really bad. I used to wake up in pain, and DH would try massaging it until it got better.

Recently, I discovered that if I immediately get out of bed and put my full weight on the leg with the cramp, it will stop. Sometimes I actually have to take a step or two, but it always stops. While it doesn't prevent them, it's nice to get rid of them so much more quickly. :thumbsup2

I used to get up and hop up and down on the affected leg; they'd go away almost immediately. :thumbsup2

I don't have a horse LOL!
But wow I never tried to stand right away, my DH usually puts his hand on my calf as I try to stretch it. I'm gonna give standing up a try.

It's a very painful muscle cramp on the back of your lower leg. The best thing to do is stand up or flex your foot (do NOT point your toes!).

I also heard a silver spoon rubbed in that area will get rid of it.

While pregnant, my solution. When cramping, if laying down, pull your toes toward your head. Does that make sense. Do the opposite of pointing your toes, pull them toward your head and stretch your calf.

Horse cramp...after playing in the snow my daughter was worried about "Purple-Bite".

No, but as a child I had "duck spots" (goose bumps). lol

ohhhh ok I was totally lost I was trying to figure out what on earth you guys were talking about. thx for the info you learn something new every day I guess

Instead of standing up.. I pull my feet to my bottom and strech them out that way. i am usually so tired i would fall over.. or put your legs in the walking postition on the wall
