Ever gotten a complimentary upgrade to concierge?

Wow you are all so lucky! I've stayed at POP 3 times this year alone and I just can't understand why they won't upgrade me to concierge... Maybe I'll be one of the lucky few chosen for an upgrade on my upcomming trip in Oct. to ASMu!! Fingers Crossed!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :earsboy:

We were upgraded last Nov for my 40th birthday. At the GF we had a garden view and were upgraded to sugar loaf  . This was one of many birthday gifts while we were there. Tina

Can someone please tell me what the CL level is all about? I have never gotten it before and didn't know I was missing anything.
All rooms can get room service and a clean room daily with special request so what extra does CL get? Free soda? :confused3
I will be staying at Pop this time so I don't think they even have CL.

I just had friends get back in may and they were upgraded to the twelth floor conceirge floor. they said it was wonderful, and they were even picked to be the firework family of the night, which meant they got there on room on the floor with snacks and open bar with beutuful drinks for the night during the duration of the show. Good luck.

CL gives you access to pre-arrival itinerary planners. They'l make your PS's for you (including hard to get ones like CRT) and handle any other request you can think of (mine has gotten us GREAT seats for Cirque and will also book some park tours we want to take, for example). You also get a lounge area just for Conceirge guests that serve continental breakfast, and snacks at lunch and dinner time, and deserts, wine and cordials in the evenings. While not ment to be a meal replacement, the offerings are sufficiant enough that many people do use the food offerings for light meals, especially for their kids. CL rooms usually offer some of the best views the resort offeres. For example, a Lagoon View CL room at the Poly will give you a picture perfect view of MK and the fireworks each night. CL rooms also offer turn down service, and the CL staff can handle requests or deal with any problems you have while you're in Disney.

Of course, it IS expensive, and even with the money you save in food, you'll still pay more for the privialge. CL is also only offered at the Deluxe resorts, the Value and Moderate resorts do not offer this level of service. So if you are on a budget, CL is really not for you. But if you are in the habit of staying at a Deluxe anyway, it can be worth looking into, especially if you think you'll use the pre-arrival itinerary planning service.

Thanks! I guess I haven't missed it because it sound like something I wouldn't use. We are not in our rooms much at all. Sun up we are gone and usually it is really late when we get back. I have made all my PS's already and haven't had any trouble getting any of them. Unless the room isn't clean or it is near loud busses with fumes I don't have a problem. At least now I know what you are talking about. Don't get me wrong. I would still love to get that extra bump up to a CL if I were staying at a deluxe resort. I just don't think I would pay extra for it. :goodvibes

On our last trip we were given concierge access at the Poly, although we weren't in Hawaii. I believe it's because we went on the Platinum Plan - we had a pre-arrival planner (same thing that concierge level gets), so maybe they just figured it was easier that way to coordinate things. We were very spoiled and very happy:)

My friend was upgraded in December. They had booked a garden view room at GF. They made no requests and were upgraded to Sugar Loaf on check-in. This was a birthday trip for her son who had turned five in September, but I don't think she even mentioned that when she made her reservations. We've been lots and lots of times, and occasionally have had a view upgrade, but never to concierge. We paid for a concierge upgrade once at check-in at WL (I think is was about $35 extra a night a the time.) It spoiled us so much that now we just always book concierge and scrimp and save on other stuff throughout the year.

My DH worked for ITT Sheraton in the corporate hq and went on our honeymoon and one other time. Both times we got "employee rate" of $75 and got upgraded each time. On our honeymoon the window was stuck so we called the front desk. Later that night they sent up a bottle of champagne, fruit basket and godiva chocolates..
