I was wondering how many people own disney stock and went to the annual meeting in 2004?

I got an email that the 2005 meeting is Feb 11th and I'll be in the area at that time. I was wondering if it was anything special?

I went to the one in Hartford a few years ago. No great shakes. They actually have characters there! I believe last years meeting was in Denver during a major snowstorm with about 25 people in attendance (no lie!!). So, I'm not sure what kind of response you'll get back from anyone attending last years meeting.

Nice.... I guess it's no big shakes then. I was hoping for some park tickets LOL......

Minneapolis, MN. There seems to be a pattern here of holding the meetings in the north where it's cold and the potential for snow!!

Oh ok, just thought maybe it would be near/in WDW. :earboy2:

I voted online instead.... I didn't realize it was in MN. I must have read it too fast.

I went to last year's meeting in Philly. It went on for about 7 hours with no break, but I think that's anomalous. It was neat, they had the 75 mickey statues there, coffee and pastries during registration, and we saw clips from upcoming movies such as The Incredibles before the public. I'd go again if it was near me or I happened to be in the area.

I went to the Save Disney Rally the day before the meeting last year. NICE reception afterwards as well, with some freebies (T shirt, etc) Not sure if they will be doing that again (Roy Disney/Stanley Gold)

I would go again, to the actual meeting, if I could. Last year, I listened live via the internet. It was interesting even from home!

I attended the Philly meeting last year too. Extremely crowded. Long lines to pass through security. No recording devices of any kind which included cameras and cell phones with cameras. Lots of people brought cameras to take pictures of the characters and the Mickey statues and were upset to find that security would not let them take them into the meeting.
Meeting lasted a very long time. No break for lunch and none was provided. During registration, coffee and juice were provided. I personally did not see any pastries but they may have been gone before I got there. There were some freebies handed out which included Mickey postcards, stickers, and some environmental info connected with Earth Day. Several hours after the start of the meeting, CMs at the registration table put out collectible safety pins from AK which featured Pumbaa and Timon. I guess they waited until the crowd thinned out so that there would not be a mob scene as people grabbed them.
If you can, pre-register and bring your admittance ticket to the meeting. That way you will not have to wait in the long lines to register. Check in your stockholders packet for info on where you can park for free. Disney provided parking vouchers for three parking garages near the event. The vouchers have to be picked up at the meeting anytime before the end. No need to pick this up at the beginning. You can go to the registration table after the crowds have thinned and pick one up. Just make sure you park in the authorized garage/lot.

Just wanted to add that Roy Disney and Stanley Gold attended and were given a standing ovation from the crowd. After they spoke, Roy exited the meeting hall and spent time talking with stockholders in the lobby area. Several lucky stockholders were able to get their pictures taken with him.(I was not one. Found out about it from a friend after it happened).

Because I own a huge amount of the Disney Company I'm invited to a private meeting with the Board of Directors.

I go because I'm very heavily invested. As of this writing I own in cash value $5.5 million of disney. So as you can see, it is in my best interest to go.

I'm invited to a private meeting with the Board of Directors.

I've been invited to those before too.
I'm no fan of current management, including that of the newest version of the BOD, so I've never attended one.

As of this writing
IMHO it's a *tad* classless to be bantering numbers around in a forum like this. It should suffice simply to say if one holds a modest amount of shares or be 'heavily invested'.

I am a stock holder with Disney also, and would never 'share' my amount either....

really?????..even IF your suggested level of ownership equaled .000095 % ?????????

The $47,000 +/- of annual dividend *might* change your mind! ;)
Of course with that type of income from this one holding...you *might* be willing to stay in a "deluxe" from time to time...eeeeh? :rotfl: ;)

Not to be a braggart, but I know a Disney stockholder.

Usually the people who like to throw figures around are lying. Keep talking buddy. We believe you.

So, I guess you will be accusing the board of stealing your idea for "The Missing Link" as you called Expedition Everest?
