I've never had this happen to me before last night.

DH, DS (who suffers from motion sickness) and I went to see Captain Phillips. I was fine during the previews and during the beginning part of the movie. Once they got onto the water, I felt horrible. DS was fine! I really didn't know what was happening to me, but I finally got up and left. I went outside in the fresh air and laid on a bench. I couldn't close my eyes while I was laying there or else I felt sick. About 30 minutes later it was gone and I've been fine since. It was such an odd feeling and one I can say I've never really experienced before. Oh well. DH and DS tell me it was a great movie. Guess I'll never know!

Oh I got sick as a dog during Capt Phillips and I never get motion sickness. It was awful.

Thank you for the warning!!!!!

The only one that's ever effected me was the one with Paul Newman & Tom Cruise, during the scenes where they are playing pool. blerg, had to close my eyes...

Came close once. On the Disney Magic cruise ship in the Buena Vista theater, watching the first Pirates Caribbean movie......in very very rough seas. The theater is all the way forward and down. Very interesting effect during the scenes when the pirates were at sea.

Yes, I got motion sick during the beginning 10-15 minutes Saving Private Ryan. They used a hand-held steadycam, to simulate seeing the events of a flashback, through the eyes of a person. The camera shifted so much, (not so steady after all  ) that I wasn't sure I'd be able to last through the whole movie. Luckily, they went back to a regular camera after that.

I get motion sick watching commercials with water. :lmao: Watching movies where the actors "film" is just as bad--I puked during Cloverfield.

No :3dglasses movies either.

I remember back in the day people saying that Blair Witch Project made them sick because of the camera stuff.

The Hunger Games during the fight scenes when they were doing those shaky camera shots. Felt like I was on StarTours.

I had to leave the theater during Hunger Games because it made me so ill with motion sickness. I tried watching it on DVD at home and it still made me ill. I'm going to try a smaller screen and see if I can watch it. Not looking forward to the next movie, but my husband is dying to see it and doesn't want to go alone.

My daughter went to see some space movie that was in 3D and she got so sick from it. None of us have ever had that happen before.

My dad brought back a VHS tape (back in the day) of a fishing excursion he took on the ocean. I could NOT watch it and neither could anyone else. It made all of us "sick". Sorry dad...:rotfl:

Oh yeah, ugh, some movies I've watched have made me green before - also playing certain video games have made me  too.

The first time I ever got queasy from watching anything was the old MK attraction, The Timekeeper. It was a theater in the round sort of thing.

The second time was the movie, Cloverfield.

I got sick watching Gravity with Sandra Bullock. I have never had it happen before

Yes! I had to look down during the chase scenes in Hunger Games due to the motion. I will never see movies that I know are filmed that way because they always make me sick. Thanks for the warning on this one, too bad, because I love Tom Hanks.

Glad to know I'm not the first one who's had to leave a movie theater with motion sickness - I've left a Bourne movie(not sure which one)with all the car scenes with a hand held camera. I also had to leave Pearl Harbor and go take a Dramamine. This is why I won't do Star Tours or Mission to Space.
