People were a bit aggravated with me @ the store tonight...
Kinda silly... but tonight I bought paper towel (Bounty) on sale... they had it marked @ $3.99 for an 8 pack. It rang up at $9.99. Thats $12 back in my pocket...
So I went to customer service where I assume one would go for an error like this. No one was behind me. I think the store was short staffed or something. So she goes back to look... I swear she was slower then a snail. People started backing up... I could have beat her in speed hands down... and I walk slower then most 90 year olds due to arthritis.
First they buzzed the product in. She said "no it's $9.99". I said I realize it rang up as that. My receipt says the same thing. So she goes back to look (I'd gone back when I first came in to make sure we'd seen it right).
I had explained when I went back this time all the paper towel was now gone but the tag was indeed still there and it was on the 8 pack. She told me I must be mistaken as she went back and there was no tag. I wasn't gonna back down!
and insisted there was a tag. So this other gal who was her supervisor and clearly irritated at me says she would go back with me.
So we go back and sure enough there is the tag! The supervisor tried to tell me I must have grabbed the wrong paper towel... Now I had been patient up to this point. I told her if I did I'd be really ticked b/c there were 6 or more packs right there earlier....
In the long run I did indeed grab the right paper towel... according to the sticky thing. The gal removed the sales tag. I got my $12+ back. But it irritated me... $12 isn't that much but it's not the first time I've caught mistakes at this chain of stores.
Ever caught a mistake on your receipt?

and I would say they are wrong at least 50% of the time. In my area, when they make a mistake they not only give you your money back but you get the product for free
. One time I had a very large grocery order and I didn't even realize until I got outside but the store charged me $100.00 for a loaf of bread instead of $1.00
. It pays to check. It's your money and you have every right to go back and dispute the discrepancy.

I've had similiar situations and I'll double-check before escalating...but I've actually removed their sign from the shelf and handed it to the customer service rep. It's hard to dispute when it's in black and white.
I told her I couldn't anyways...
