Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Your lunch in Mexico looks so good! I don't know why we never go there, we always skip it! :confused3

The F&G festival is so beautiful! I love all the different topiaries that they didn't have when I was there in 2010, it's nice to know they change from year to year!

LOL, your First Lizard game is so cute! Brandon insists on pointing out every single lizard we see on our trip. At first I'm excited about seeing them, since we don't have random lizards where I live, but after a while, I'm over it! :rotfl:

Yummy lunch! We really enjoyed the new cantina also. The old cantina had been a favorite WS lunch spot, so I was very happy to see that the new one was even better. We also had the cheese empenadas, which were excellent, and Everett even ate his children's empenadas, which was like a small miracle!

First lizard sounds like an awesome game! I'll have to remember that for our next trip. We always used to try and catch them as kids, and that was fun, until the day my brother actually caught one, and it BIT him! :scared1:

You guys got such nice shots of the topiaries! I'm happy you had such a beautiful day for touring WS. I hope Carter falls asleep for you!

I am so impressed by all the different topiaries!!! Those are so cool...I love pandas..so that one sticks out to me as a favorite! :goodvibes

I am now craving some churros too!! those looked so good!!

:yay: so glad Jeremy has arrived! I loved the bit with Carter dancing in his car seat. I remember (when we had a car!) Henry doing that. So cute. :cutie:

Looks like a perfect day at Epcot. I hope Carter falls asleep soon!

The topiary's are really a work of art.

How funny that Landon prefered the churro with caramel sauce.
I honestly don't like churro's they taste weird, but I never had them with any sauce the two times I tried to eat them.
Thanks for the tip Landon :)

I am a big lover of the funnel cakes!!!!

First lizard... what a great idea for a game! Those things seem like they're everywhere.:lmao:

It looks like a fun afternoon of wandering through EPCOT. The way Carter looks in a few of your pictures, it looks like he's either relaxed and fully reclined with his feet up, or that he's been tossed around in a wild ride in the stroller.:rotfl2:

LOVE the "First Lizard!" game. I even suggested to dh that we start playing it everday. He didn't seem all that excited. Love that you do that anyway. It's adorable.

Looks like a fun Epcot day so far. I love how Carter has his little legs up in the stroller in your pics. He's such a cutie! :goodvibes

What a lovely afternoon at Epcot!!!

I think "first lizard" sounds like a fun little game to play!

I love that you discovered those steps! People try to give me a hard time about repeating Disney...."Haven't you seen it ALL?" No way! There is always something new to discover!:thumbsup2

We were having the best time at Epcot that day. The Flower and Garden Festival was amazing.

We like playing First Lizard. I'm sure it will become more competitive once the boys start playing, too.

I think I find something new nearly every trip. Or even if it's not new, I learn to appreciate it differently and then it's almost as if it were new. I love being able to always discover something else.

Sounds like y'all were having a great day with the whole family being together at Epcot. I loved just walking around & seeing all of the amazing topiaries. Can't wait to see whether or not Carter took a nap as well so that y'all could stay in Epcot that night.

I think being together made the time at Epcot all the more fun. And the topiaries were all beautiful. During F&G, I'm happy just walking and looking. Carter definitely needed a nap.

Sounds like a wonderful day at Epcot. The seating area inside the Cantina was practically deserted the day we ate there too. I didn't realize there was seating inside and wouldn't have known at all if I hadn't had to take DD to the restroom. The restrooms are so nice! If I had been with you I would have traded you my beef tacos for your nachos. ;)

I love your find the lizard first game. I will have to remember that.

It was the best day at Epcot! I'm guessing most people don't know they can sit inside during lunch. I did think the restrooms in there were really nice, too. One of the few times at Disney when the restroom wasn't busy. If you had been with us, I would have gladly traded my nachos for your beef tacos. :rotfl:

First Lizard is fun. I love how the lizards are everywhere at Disney. Even the lizards seem magical there.

Your lunch in Mexico looks so good! I don't know why we never go there, we always skip it! :confused3

There's so many good choices in Epcot that it's hard to pick sometimes. We'll definitely be going back to La Cantina, though maybe not on the next trip, since there will be Food and Wine, instead.

I thought this year's F&G topiaries were really cool and very well done. It seemed there was something new and exciting every where we went. Having new things every year is pretty smart.

I always find lizards sort of cute, so I like seeing them at Disney. Since they're at Disney, they seem special, even though we do have lizards here, too. Plus, I usually win First Lizard, so that's extra fun.

Yummy lunch! We really enjoyed the new cantina also. The old cantina had been a favorite WS lunch spot, so I was very happy to see that the new one was even better. We also had the cheese empenadas, which were excellent, and Everett even ate his children's empenadas, which was like a small miracle!

I used to like going to the old Cantina awhile before Illuminations would be starting to get good seats for it, but Jeremy never liked the food at the old one. Luckily, Jeremy liked the new one just fine, although I think it's going to be too popular to try the Illuminations seating thing again. I'm surprised Everett ate his empanadas. Maybe I should have gotten that for the boys. I know Landon would have eaten it, he loves salsa. :rotfl:

I had no idea that lizards bite, but then, I've never tried to catch one. I like lizards, but I'm always afraid if I tried to hold one then its tail would fall off in my hand and flop around and the lizard would run off tailless. :rotfl:

I was happy anytime that I managed to get a shot of the topiaries without extra people in them. Carter sure should have been falling asleep.

I'm surprised that DTD doesn't have more room for parking. It gets rather insane there. I mean, there are only so many times one can circle without praying to be endowed with some supernatural power to move cars telekinetically just to have a spot!

Haha, you got me laughing with this: "I liked the roast beef sandwich and the chips and had no problems chewing either." I'm glad that you were able to fully enjoy your dinner!

Phew, I got nervous when you couldn't find your special items bag! You still think pretty logically in the heat of the moment!

Oh no, poor Landon! I remember when my younger brother Matt was a baby, and we heard that congested breathing. I hated hearing it!

Wait, does this mean I'm going to be a bad mom? I'm not even a mom yet, but I wear jean shorts and flip flops with a ponytail ... haha. But YAY for bad mom winning! It was good for you too. You'd be monitoring him all night anyway; you might as well have him closer instead of having to fumble around in the dark. So maybe bad mom was really good mom too!

YAY for the reunion! Hehe, your clever boy is such a clever writer! And also YAY for finally having pictures of YOU in this TR!

Years ago, when my family had to watch my cousin when he was very young (he's no in HS), we took him to a Tex-Mex restaurant. He was eating chips then, and all seemed well with the world until he choked, and we all FREAKED OUT! Oh man. Scary moment! I totally understand why chips for babies just don't make sense!

I like your First Lizard game!

Those pandas at China weren't so nice when I was walking alongside the fence at night and didn't know they were there. When I turned and saw them, I was scared, but then again, that's not that a new thing for me because I get scared over everything.

Ooo, that staircase leads up to my apartment! This is in 2008 ...

And this is in 2010 ...

I just realized I don't have one for 2011. Too busy watching MY "kids"!

I am so impressed by all the different topiaries!!! Those are so cool...I love pandas..so that one sticks out to me as a favorite! :goodvibes

I am now craving some churros too!! those looked so good!!

I was impressed by the topiaries, too. I thought it was an exceptionally good Flower and Garden show this year. I thought the pandas were cute.

I think those were the best churros I'd ever had. It was all due to the sauce.

:yay: so glad Jeremy has arrived! I loved the bit with Carter dancing in his car seat. I remember (when we had a car!) Henry doing that. So cute. :cutie:

Looks like a perfect day at Epcot. I hope Carter falls asleep soon!

I was so happy Jeremy arrived and I wasn't trying to handle both boys by myself. I love it when the boys are happy enough to dance in their car seats. Happy little boys are the cutest!

I think perfect is just the right word for the day. I'm sure Carter was getting sleepy.

Wouldn't it be fun to be one of the people who get to make those topiaries? I'd love that job.

I thought it was funny that Landon only liked the churro with the sauce. Of course, he probably would have rather had the cup of caramel sauce and never mind about the churro. I've never really liked churros much, but those were good.

I bet funnel cakes would be good dipped in caramel sauce. :rotfl:

First lizard... what a great idea for a game! Those things seem like they're everywhere.:lmao:

It looks like a fun afternoon of wandering through EPCOT. The way Carter looks in a few of your pictures, it looks like he's either relaxed and fully reclined with his feet up, or that he's been tossed around in a wild ride in the stroller.:rotfl2:

First Lizard is a lot of fun. There's so many lizards running around that we usually spot one pretty fast.

I think Carter was relaxing. It certainly wasn't a wild ride, since Landon was asleep. Of course, Carter might have been pretending he was on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. He has an unusually large imagination for someone his size.

:goodvibes

That's true, the game wouldn't be quite as much fun if you saw lizards every day. When I lived in Florida, we had a pet iguana and one day, a lizard climbing into the iguana cage. They really are everywhere down there. :rotfl:

It was a fun day at Epcot. Carter did look cute in the stroller, although I can't but feel that he should have put his legs down and gone to sleep.

Another great update. :thumbsup2

Thank you! :)

I'm all caught up thanks to your handy links :thumbsup2

Your boys are adorable!! :goodvibes

I'm glad my links are getting some use! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I'm surprised that DTD doesn't have more room for parking. It gets rather insane there. I mean, there are only so many times one can circle without praying to be endowed with some supernatural power to move cars telekinetically just to have a spot!
Maybe instead of Hyperion Wharf, Disney should add more parking. I could have used some telekinetic powers that night. I'll definitely not be trying to park at DTD on a Friday night again.
Haha, you got me laughing with this: "I liked the roast beef sandwich and the chips and had no problems chewing either." I'm glad that you were able to fully enjoy your dinner!
That was a good meal. I sometimes feel sorry for Landon since he doesn't have many teeth to chew with yet.
Phew, I got nervous when you couldn't find your special items bag! You still think pretty logically in the heat of the moment!
I was really glad I hadn't lost that bag! I've always found that if I can come up with a plan in case of the worst, then it's okay.
Oh no, poor Landon! I remember when my younger brother Matt was a baby, and we heard that congested breathing. I hated hearing it!
I hate hearing Landon breathing like that, too. I was glad he improved once he got in bed with me.
I don't think that good mom/bad mom can apply to people who aren't yet moms. :rotfl: Once you become a mom, everything changes. I think it was okay to let Landon sleep with me that night. He was sure it was okay.
YAY for the reunion! Hehe, your clever boy is such a clever writer! And also YAY for finally having pictures of YOU in this TR!
Thanks! I'm always impressed by what Carter can do. And I did enjoy getting to have some pictures of me with the boys.
I hate watching Landon choke on chips. I don't think that Carter ever choked on anything when he was learning to eat table food, but Landon has trouble with chips. He always manages to sneak a chip anyway.
I like your First Lizard game!
Me, too! I'm brushing up my lizard skills so I can win in October.
Those pandas at China weren't so nice when I was walking alongside the fence at night and didn't know they were there. When I turned and saw them, I was scared, but then again, that's not that a new thing for me because I get scared over everything.
Those pandas were so cute, but I guess they could be startling at night. I wonder if in KK the topiaries come to life during the F&G Festival. :rotfl:
Ooo, that staircase leads up to my apartment! This is in 2008 ...

And this is in 2010 ...

IMG_1996.jpg

I just realized I don't have one for 2011. Too busy watching MY "kids"!

Cool pictures on the staircase! It looks like you really could just be going up to your apartment there. Too bad you don't have a 2011 picture of it. It would be cool to get one of you and Howard going up the stairs on your Disneymoon in an over-the-threshold type moment.

We heard singing and were delighted to find Rapunzel's tower.

DSCI0257.JPG

Out of everything I had seen so far, this was my very favorite. I loved Tangled and hearing Rapunzel singing in the tower was awesome.

We continued toward Italy, again taking our time and walking all the way through the pavilion. Via Napoli looked very busy. Someday, we'd go there, but not this trip.

DSCI0259.JPG

We wandered back out of Italy and stopped at a Kim Possible Mission place to get our Kimmunicator. I figured Carter should be napping any minute now and a mission or two would be fun.

We were assigned to Germany, so we decided to backtrack and do the Germany mission right then. As an added bonus, I got to see Rapunzel's tower again.

DSCI0258.JPG

The clues led us back to the miniature train. It sort of figured- the one place in Germany that I really didn't want to go with the stroller would be where we had to go.

Luckily, Carter refrained from sticking his feet through the fence and we made it to the middle where we could see the little town. I loved how the town was decorated for the Flower and Garden Festival, too.

DSCI0260.JPG

With the pushing of a button, we successfully completed one step of the mission.

DSCI0261.JPG

I was glad that the Kimmunicator's next instructions led us somewhere more stroller accessible.

DSCI0262.JPG

While heading to our next destination, we decided to take a break from the mission and get some Chewy Caramel Bars.

The line was very reasonable and I got my camera out, since I had had some requests for pictures of the beloved Chewy Caramel Bar.

We made it to the display case...but there was no Chewy Caramel Bar in the display!

I looked at Jeremy, alarmed and anxious. Jeremy always knows what to say in times of trouble.

"It's fine. I'm sure they have some more in the back. They're probably fresh out of the oven and extra good."

"Okay, good. I hope they have some. What if they discontinued them?"

"Well, all we can do is ask, but I'm sure it's fine."

When it was our turn, we asked the CM if there were any Chewy Caramel Bars. She smiled at us and said she thought there were some in the back.

I felt marginally better, because a CM wouldn't smile at us like that if she were about to crush our Chewy Caramel dreams.

The CM returned empty-handed.

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid we're all out. What else can I get for you?"

She was still smiling. Didn't she realize that a grievous thing had befallen us and she should be offering heartfelt condolences?

Anxious and alarmed, I looked to Jeremy, who always knows the right thing to do in cases like these.

"Will there be any more Chewy Caramel Bars tonight? We can always come back."

"No, we won't get any more in until tomorrow morning."

"But this is our only Epcot day! Tomorrow is too late!"

It was at that precise moment that Carter chose to begin screaming at the top of his lungs.

Oh goodness! I'm sorry it sounds like everything started falling apart with the chewy caramel bars. Hope all works out well for the rest of the day!

I really want to try the Kimpossible missions one day. Guess I'll wait until Reid gets a little older to give it a try.

Oh Rapunzel's tower is really cute! princess:

Oh no!!!!! I know how much you love those chewy caramel bars!!!!!

Really enjoyed the last few updates - we never take enough time to really appreciate things in Epcot so thank you!
x

The detail in Rapunzel's tower looks very impressive... although detail should be expected at Disney. And speaking of detail, it always amazes me with the effort that they put into making the miniature village look so alive and real.

I'm sorry about the Chewy Caramel Bars. I hope that's all that Carter is upset about too.:scared1:

Love Rapunzel's tower - how cute is that?!

:scared1: No chewy caramel bars? Hopefully they had something else somewhat appealing in the case - the pictures I've seen show many many things that I'd be willing to eat

How cute that the little town in Germany is decorated for the F&G Festival! I see little Lightning and Mater!

Oh man, if you got so upset about no more Chewy Caramel Bars, I think I need to go see what this is all about! Howard and I didn't make it to the caramel shop since we split up and headed back to Future World instead of WS. I think Nik got something from there though, but she brought it home.
