Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Super cute, Kate!!! Have you ever considered writing children's books? I bet you could come up with a great beginning chapter book series!!! popcorn::

Too cute! I think this just shows how in tune you are with your boys! Landon will love reading this someday...

:yay:

Awww, what a great update by Landon! So cute to see things from his perspective! :lovestruc

Thanks! Landon's perspective is always pretty unique.

Poor Landon...that Girl with the Dimples is pretty rough on that little man! Would it really have been too much to ask for her to sit in the god-forsaken stroller and let Landon push for a while....seems like he had a great plans of attack;)

:lmao: I wish I could have sat in that stroller and let him push me around instead. After a few laps around Animal Kingdom, I was more than ready for a nap. I'm sure Landon would have had a lot of fun running people over.

Bravo...excellent update, Kate. Incredibly entertaining. Landon will enjoy checking this out in a few years. :lmao:

Thanks! I hope Landon enjoys it in a few years. :rotfl:

Oh my, Kate, I cannot even type anything as I can't stop :lmao::lmao::lmao: at Landon's telling of your afternoon adventure at AK. My husband is looking at me as if to say, "the poor old gal has totally lost it." :lmao::lmao:

Brilliant, just brilliant!

Thank you! Landon's a fun storyteller. I'm glad you liked his side of the story.

Wonderfully clever update!! Love it! Glad Landon was able to get his point(s) across! He'll be a leader someday. ;)

Cute update! Sorry Landon was having such a hard day. Its too bad he didn't want to sleep for longer so you could have more of a break. Doesn't it always seem that the days you want them to sleep the most are the days they sleep the least!

I'm also curious about the movie. I'm wracking my brain trying to think of which Disney movie has a mouse taking off its clothes! :lmao:

:lmao: It's so funny to hear you tell this from Landon's perspective! Poor guy...such a tortured soul! :rotfl:

What a great update....I can't stop laughing at Landon's perspective....:lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just LOVE this Landon guy he is so funny!!!

You are a great writer with lots of fantasy!

:worship: WOW! Best. Update. Ever.

Seriously, we get a vinylmation trade (see ya Big Baby!) AND a fully narrated update for the King himself? I love the idea of Carter being Landon's side kick.
:happytv:

Thanks! I was so happy to get rid of one Big Baby vinylmation. Landon definitely thinks Carter is his sidekick. I'm not so sure Carter believes it, though. :rolleyes1

LOVE Landon's update! Adorable! Bravo Landon! :cool1:

Thanks! Landon will be pleased to hear his update was a success. :rotfl:

I felt a little smug. All the girls wanted to eat with me. And who could blame them?

BAHA!! This is HILARIOUS! I applaud you, ma'am. Epic.

Thank you! :cool1:

Poor Landon..Just when things start getting good, huh? :rotfl:

That was great!! By far the best update I've read on here. I actually read it to DH after, who cracked up just as much. :lmao: Loved it!

Always, as soon as Landon finds something really good to do, someone breaks it up.

Thanks! I'm glad your DH liked it, too. :yay:

That was too cute!

So what was the movie with a mouse taking off clothes?

Thanks! The movie was The Great Mouse Detective. It was the scene where they're in the bar and this girl mouse comes out on stage singing "Let me be good to you" and does a little stripping. I like the movie, but it just seemed out of place in the baby care center.

:rotfl: that was so cute, it had me rolling! well done Landon! i loved it all especially the fact that Landon has no intentions of ever taking a nap again!:thumbsup2

Thank you! Landon tells me all the time that he never plans on napping ever again and then he'll be asleep five minutes later.

:rotfl::rotfl:OMG!! Landon is to funny. Another great update. Thanks for the laughs! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm always happy to provide some laughs on here. :rotfl:

LOL!!!! Awesome update. Adorable. :)

Thank you! :)

OMG! Love this update! I think Landon and Meadow would get along famously. I think us Moms only like to think we are the "Boss" unfortunately the kids do know differently.:rotfl:

I'm sure they would get along great. Landon is very charming whenever he's around girls. Unfortunately for Landon, the day is coming when he will learn that a Landon is not the title for the King of the Universe.

I LOVE the way you wrote this update :goodvibes too funny!! Not so sure about your new vinylmation...what did you think of the pumpkin?

Thanks! I liked the pumpkin vinylmation. It looks very Halloween-ish, and since we're going on our first Halloween Disney trip this October, it seemed fitting.

Landon, you're a great TR writer. You also made the right choice by having your snack with the Girl with the Dimples.

:rotfl:

Great update, love it! What a great perspective!

I'll have to keep Landon's story in my mind as I torture my kids.

Thanks! Landon certainly sees the world a bit differently than most people.

Best. Post. Ever.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Thank you! :)

:rotfl:

Great job Landon!!!! :worship:

Thanks! Landon was happy to get his side of the story out there. :goodvibes

Ahhahahah!!! I loved the update!
I can't believe King of the Universe didn't like Oreos in his ice cream! That's my favorite!

And I can just picture him smoothly trying to munch some Animal Crackers from some girls.

Looking forward to seeing how him and his sidekick enjoyed their afternoon; hopefully they didn't tire you out!:)

There was no good reason for Landon to not like Oreos in his ice cream. He likes Oreos and he likes ice cream. I'm pretty sure he was being unreasonable.

I saw that gleam in Landon's eyes and I knew he was planning on going over and sharing those girls' animal crackers. It never crossed his mind that they might not be pleased to share with him. :rotfl:

Once Carter woke up, I knew the rest of the afternoon would be fine. As long as I didn't have to keep pushing Landon all around the Animal Kingdom.

Best. Update. Ever!

Landon has a very bright future as an author! Perhaps, he's already working on his first memoir! :lmao:

Thank you!

Landon might be working on his memoirs. I'm sure he'll have a lot of deep and profound thoughts on his life so far. :rotfl:

Super cute, Kate!!! Have you ever considered writing children's books? I bet you could come up with a great beginning chapter book series!!! popcorn::

Thanks! I think it would be a lot of fun to children's books, but I bet most people would like to and very few of them get to. I'll stick with TR writing. :rotfl:

Too cute! I think this just shows how in tune you are with your boys! Landon will love reading this someday...

Thanks! I am the world's leading expert on Landon and Carter. I hope Landon likes reading it someday.

Wonderfully clever update!! Love it! Glad Landon was able to get his point(s) across! He'll be a leader someday. ;)

Thanks! I hope Landon learns to use his leadership abilities for good someday. :rotfl:

Cute update! Sorry Landon was having such a hard day. Its too bad he didn't want to sleep for longer so you could have more of a break. Doesn't it always seem that the days you want them to sleep the most are the days they sleep the least!

I'm also curious about the movie. I'm wracking my brain trying to think of which Disney movie has a mouse taking off its clothes! :lmao:

I did wish Landon had stayed asleep longer. It would have been a much more pleasant afternoon to spend it shopping and just hanging out. They do always seem to know which days I really want them to sleep the longest.

Great Mouse Detective wouldn't be the movie I'd have picked for the Baby Care Center to be playing. One of the little girls in there kept asking her dad what the girl mouse was doing.

:lmao: It's so funny to hear you tell this from Landon's perspective! Poor guy...such a tortured soul! :rotfl:

Landon's very misunderstood, isn't he? :rotfl:

Great update! Keeping mental notes for our next TR. :D

Thanks! :)

What a great update....I can't stop laughing at Landon's perspective....:lmao:

Thank you! Landon's perspective is pretty funny most of the time.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just LOVE this Landon guy he is so funny!!!

You are a great writer with lots of fantasy!

Thank you! Landon thinks he's pretty funny, too. I've always suffered from an overactive imagination. :rotfl:

Landon, you're a great TR writer. You also made the right choice by having your snack with the Girl with the Dimples.

Landon said to say thanks. He says the Girl with the Dimples always has the best juice boxes. :thumbsup2

PirateKate-

I am loving your trip report! You do so much with just you and your two little men!

I just noticed your ticker! We are going to be at Disney at the same time as you! We arrive a day after you and it will be my DS's first trip! I am reading your report for tips on Disney with a toddler (he will turn 2 during the trip)!!

I was at WDW and PoP May 2-7 and I remember a young lady on the bus back to PoP with two boys, a big stroller, and several bags. I carried the stroller off the bus and could not figure out how to unfold it. I thought at the time she had a handful with this load. Maybe it was you. Good trip report!

Thanks! I like to do as much as I can with the boys.:goodvibes

I'm getting so excited about our trip in October. It's starting to seem like it's coming right up. I bet you all will have a great time with your son on his first trip. I love getting to experience Disney with my boys.

No, it wasn't me. I've never had the nerve to take my boys on a Disney bus. Between folding up the stroller and getting the boys on the bus and carrying whatever stuff I had stored in the stroller and trying to keep the boys quiet on the ride and the fact that we may or may not get a seat, it's never been something I'm willing to tackle. If it had been me, I would have been very grateful for the help with the stroller. :rotfl: Thanks!

After a very long afternoon with Landon, I was overjoyed when Carter woke up and we could go do something more fun than seeing what new mischief was lurking in the mind of Landon.

I still had my Fastpass for Kilimanjaro Safari and I was determined to ride it next. I got the boys ready to go and gave Carter a snack and drink for the ride over to Harambe.

I went in the Fastpass return entrance, hoping that none of the CMs would remember us. The wait was a bit shorter than it had been the last time we tried to ride, which I thought was a good sign.

When we reached stroller parking, I found a good spot and knelt in front of Landon to have a serious talk with him.

"All right, Landon. Here's how it's going to be. We're going to get in line for this ride. I'm going to carry you the whole way. There will be no squirming or assisted walking. Sometimes we'll be moving and sometimes we'll be standing still. And the whole time, I expect you to be a model citizen. Got it?"

He grinned at me and shook his head no.

I decided to take him out anyway. Much to my surprise, Landon actually was a model citizen while we were in line. He let me hold him and he waited patiently when we stopped moving. Carter did just as good as ever and overall, it was a really easy wait.

We were seated in a row with another couple and the lady sitting next to me seemed to admire my boys, which Carter and Landon enjoyed.

After speaking to them, the lady chatted with me as the Safari started. "Have you seen the Circle of Life show yet?"

I wasn't sure what to say. Did she mean the Circle of Life at Epcot, in which case I would say, yes, but it's not really my kind of thing? Or did she mean the Festival of the Lion King, in which case I would say, yes, isn't it awesome?

I decided to go with a neutral answer. "Yes, did you like it?"

"It was amazing! The best show I've ever seen at Disney World."

Ah, so we were talking Festival of the Lion King. "It's one of my favorites. I love the Tumble Monkeys and all the singers are wonderful."

We came upon the okapi and I pointed him out to the boys.

"Look, guys, there's an okapi!"

Landon was sitting in my lap and he seemed to see it, but Carter didn't. Carter was on the bench next to me and he was looking hard, but just wasn't tall enough to see anything.

"You know, I don't think he can see the animals."

My friendly safarimate was correct, but I wasn't sure what to do about it. It's not like I had anyone else for Carter to sit with. He looked so hopeful, though, sitting there looking for animals.

I shifted Landon to one of my legs and scooped up Carter and let him sit on the other. Carter instantly was all smiles and spotted the okapi easily.

All I had to do was hold on very tight to the boys during all the bumpy parts.

We went by the hippos and there was actually a hippo standing out of the water. It was really neat. I had never seen a hippo out of water before. Cool.

We saw most of the other usual suspects. I regretted being unable to take any pictures, but with Carter on one side and Landon on the other, digging around in my pocket for the camera was not a viable option.

We passed the nest with the eggs and the lady next to me asked what kind of eggs they were.

I was racked with indecision. Should I share the fact that those eggs have been around for every time on the Safari for the last ten years or so or would that ruin the magic?

"I think he said they're ostrich eggs."

"Oh, ostrich eggs, how interesting!"

We did end up seeing an ostrich, so that was something.

We shifted into the phase where we chase down the poachers. I've never cared for that storyline, which seems very contrived. This time, I liked it even less.

It was challenging to hold the boys in a safe and secure manner and not allow them to go bouncing all over the bench. I planted my feet on the floor and held on tight.

Carter and Landon made it through the rough part with no incidents. We left the Safari and I congratulated both Carter and Landon on being model citizens throughout the whole ride.

Kate, so glad you got to do the Safari after all and that the boys were model citizens. I expected no less from those cuties! :thumbsup2
