Ever Done the Water Parks Alone?

So I might be taking a solo trip in May or June. Originally this was supposed to be a trip with friends and we planned to just do the water parks. Unfortunately they had to cancel so I'm trying to figure out what I want to do.

I have been to the major parks and eat alone with no trouble, but I'm not sure I'd want to do the water parks alone.

I thought about just doing the major parks instead, but I usually avoid going to Disney between April-October because I hate the heat so much. I thought it would be more tolerable at a water park.

What do you think I should do? I haven't been able to find anyone else to go and I rented DVC points so my reservation is non-refundable. I'm just afraid that if I try going to the major parks I will be miserable, but I'm not sure about doing the water parks alone.

Thoughts and suggestions appreciated!

I honestly wouldn't mind going to one solo. You already have to rent a locker, so you wouldn't have to worry about leaving your things on a chair. I personally prefer sitting in a tube on the lazy river or in the wave pool so I never need a chair to rest. I think you will have a great time, you're always on the slides alone, so you won't feel left out.

Just remember your sun block!

By the way, I'm going 6/29-7/5 :goodvibes

I think it would be fine. Besides, I find that Disney crowds are usually friendly and it's easy to strike up a conversation. I think I would want to go alone just so I could sleep in the sun undisturbed.

That's a good point about having to do slides alone anyway.

I just read your thread about staying at WL and your mom. So sorry.

I would say we should meet up, but I'm hoping to go in late May or early June.

I don't have problems going alone in the major parks, so I'm not sure why the water parks scare me. Maybe because I've never been to them?

I'm going to TL during my upcoming solo trip and I'm excited about it. It will be nice to take a nap in the sun. :goodvibes

I'm not at all worried about going alone to TL - I haven't been to a water park either so it should be fun to find out what's there and to explore at my own pace. :)

I've been solo a couple of times...it's usually pretty fun. I never have gotten a locker, just left my things on a chair covered with a towel. I usually only take the bare minimum with me...so my room key and maybe my cell phone.

I visited the water parks solo last year for the first time, and I had a great time!

I rented a locker, but I read/saw that guests left their stuff on the beach chairs as well.

Even on the family raft rides (Teamboat Springs @ BB and Gang Plank Falls @ TL), the cast members will team you up with another family or group of people so you won't be alone. :)

im the only one who goes tot he water parks so thats the only way i know!
I get a locker for my bag clothes etc and the only thing I leave at a chair is my towel and book

only thing I wished i had with me was water shoes as the walking on the paths bothered my feet other wise I mostly did the lazy rivers

although at TL i did do the shark reef and enjoyed it!!

I do prefer TL over BB

Yes - great tip! :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I wore water shoes there. They are perfect for water parks! In fact, I bought my current pair specifically for that reason. :teeth:

A tiny FYI: you will have to take them off and hold them while going on certain rides - for example, the Storm Slides at TL.

I have done it alone and had a blast. I don't do the slides. I just float in the lazy river all day :cloud9: I leave by clothes and towel under a chair or close to other families so it looks like theirs. I keep my room key in one of those litlle boxes you keep around your neck. I did not feel unsafe or wierd at all being alone. I even did DisneyQuest alone.

Wow, i wish i had thought of the water parks..
I would love to do those alone because no one in the family wants to do all the same things.

I have also done the water parks alone and loved it. I spend most of the day on the lazy river, but also made time for some of the water slides.

I say go and enjoy yourself! :)

I say check it out!!! I've gone solo to the waterparks and had a blast- lazy river is great. Nice place to say hi to folks and chat!
