Has anyone here ever done the pirate cruise with their kids? We just booked it for our 5 and 8 year old.

How did you like it?

Also our agent booked Cinderella's royal table for breakfast. I wasn't even going to attempt this one.

We are going in March and I am getting really excited. :earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: princess: princess:

Yes All three of my grandchildren did it this pasted April ages 4,6 and 7.
They loved it, and we plan on letting them do it again next July.
They all got nice Pirate Mickey ear hats, and a bag of goodies at the end of the
boat ride. There is a site here on the boards that has pictures of some ones daughter who did the pirate cruise.
You may want to do a search for it.

My ds6 did it in October while his sister was doing the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. He really had a great time. It is so worth the money and the women who run it, I've heard, have been doing it for a long time. Plus, there is a life guard with them and they are all suited up in life vest, mickey pirate ears, loot, etc. I want my DD to go with him next time...I think she would have a blast too. Oh, and there is a mix of boys and girls.

My DS (7) did it this past September. He loved it! They pair them up with a buddy in the beginning of the cruise, so they are always with someone. I wish I would have remembered to buy him a disposible camera to take with him though, so we could have seen a little of what he experienced.

We leave tomorrow, and I`m so excited! My son and nephew (ages 7 & 8) are doing this cruise on Wednesday and they are so excited! I just found out they get the pirates bandanna with mickey ears, what a nice souvineer!
My daughter and neice will also be doing the alice in wonderland tea party!
I will make sure to give each child their own disposable camera and hope for the best! ha ha! Also I read a tip on one of these posts to make sure if you are giving little ones cameras to adhere a sticky address label so incase it gets lost, someone will mail it to you. (hopefully) after all we`re talking Disney people!

feeling like a princess already! princess: princess:

Here's a picture of the little maties. They come back singing a song, so have your video camera ready.

Twice. Once from the Grand Floridian when they were four and five. A few weeks ago from the Y&BC, they are six and seven. At seven my son was getting a little old for it. He had fun, but I could tell he was a few months away from thinking the whole thing "hokey." But older kids do go and some of them have a great time! Most kids are probably five and six.

I have my son booked and paid for , for our February trip---Well I just showed him the picture posted here and the idea of the :boat: maybe? and for some reason he freaked (?) He said he doesn't want to do it and is suddenly afraid.....HMMMMMMM???!!!! :scared1:

Thanks for all the info, everyone!

We are going to sign up DS (4) for this during our trip in Jan. It sounds great -- Thanks for the tip for the video camera when they return. How long is it?

It is two hours and includes a snack lunch. I would call to sign up ASAP as these tend to fill fast. My DS 6 and DS 4 as well as my DN 4 will be doing the Albatross Cruise from the Yacht and Beach Club in January. DS 6 did the cruise from the Grand Floridian two years ago and loved it!

I SO want my DS3 (will be 4 in March when we go) to do this, but I'm scared. He really likes pirates, but I just think that may be too young?? Maybe he'll hate it (he doesn't like swimming, and I don't know how he'd react to the water) and would scream the whole time?? Can someone ease my mind?? Or are my fears valid?? I am on the fence about it, and don't want him to miss out on this because I'm the scaredy-cat...lol...

Personally I would hold off until he was older. The only reason I am daring to send ds (turned four in early October) is because he will be paired up w/dd (will turn six on our trip!).

My Ds just turned four and I would never think of letting him go without an older brother or sister. He is pretty brave but I think that long away from mommy and daddy in a strange place on the water is too much. JMHO.... :earsgirl:

My 2 DD's 4 and 7 went on the Pirate Cruise at the Grand Floridian earlier this month. They loved it so much that they wanted to try the Albatross one when we go back in this January. They gave the kids a paenut butter and jelly sandwich, a rice crispy treat and gummy bears, plus a juice box. My oldest ate everything but my youngest only ate the snacks. They wait until they get back at the Grand Floridian to open the "treasure" and they pass it out as the kids get off. My husband and I went over to MK while they were there and we had a blast being able to ride some rides and enjoy a little "adult time" while the kids enjoyed their adventure. I asked them details on where they went but they were very secretive about it. ;) I'm sure your kids will have a great time.

I was also pretty nervous about it, but we met another pirate who was also 4 while we were waiting, and they paired up and went as buddies.

He had the BEST time!! I am so glad we let him go, he did the one from BC/YC with Captain Joel. The CM's were terrific and really made sure all the kids felt comfortable. AT the end, they run the boat onto the sand by the Shipwreck and then all run up the beach yelling pirate stuff. We were over on the dock but it was hilarious!!

I will post our pics when we get them back.

If you have any specific questions PM me.

I just booked this today :-) I can't wait for my 7 DS and 5DS, I think they will really love it. I didn't know they have it at teh YC also until I read it in the new passporter. How long has it been at the YC? Is it new?

We just booked this for DS -- he is sooo excited! I will post an update when we return at the end of January!

How much and at what time of the day is sail off?

We are going on a Wednesday at 9:30, ya know, I didn't even ask the price....whooops...

We just booked the cruise for Jan. We are staying at the BCV and so I requested the Albatross Cruise, but she had never heard of it. I was thrilled to get the one at the Grand Floridian. Now I'm thinking I should call again for the Albatross. Is it about the same cruise? Or is it totally different? Would it be too much to do both during one trip? Thanks.
