Ever changed careers?

My husband did, but it was in his late 20s. He went back to school to become an accountant, got his MA and has been in the field ever since.

I have changed and furthered my career, but all in the same general field.

I changed careers three times. I'm looking at what will be my fourth once I retire.

I haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.

I had the same type of job for the 35 years I worked, but in different settings. I've been a clerk-typist, secretary, senior secretary, administrative secretary and executive assistant. I worked at a travel agency, a doctor's office, two colleges, and US consulates and embassies all over the world. I was lucky in that I knew from the time I was in HS that this was the kind of work I wanted to do and lucky that office administrators always seemed to be in demand.

If you don't know what you want to do, just that you want a change, you may want to contact the counseling center of the closest college and arrange for some aptitude/interest testing. Good luck; you know what "they" say: If you love what you're doing you'll never work a day in your life.

I've been trying for a career change since due to government interference, my hours have been cut in the fast food industry. Not sure what I want to do but want a stable paycheck with full time hours. And, HOPEFULLY, NO WEEKENDS!
