Ever change your name on Magicband?

Each of our bands from several trips have nicknames. The ones from last December have XmasAngel (mine) LuckyKid (GS) and SnoFlake (DD)

Our very first ones had our real names, but we decided on fun nicknames that indicate which trip the band was from after that

I usually switch mine to keep track of what band is from which trip. A lot of my say things like 26Bday, ToT2014, WD2015 or other short cuts for why we were down at the World.

Yep! our 2014 trip. We were a group of 18 people, and I'd say 14 out of the 18 did some sort of nickname for their magicband.

For every trip so far, we have had a different name put on our bands. It's fun trying to come up with something different. My DH this trip actually had the date put on it for something different.

I have a funny story about this, from one of my travel agency clients...

She went online to her MDE account, and did their bands well in advance of their trip... But never received them in the mail. At resort check-in, she explained, and the cast member looked into it for her. Turns out the bands were waiting for her at the resort desk... With one minor change. She had assigned her husband's online gaming nickname to his band, but the band they gave her just had his legal first name as it appeared on the reservation. The CM went on to explain that's actually what the problem was that held up the delivery of her bands...

The name Disney decided they couldn't print on a MB?

yes. although it really doens't matter what you put cuz its in tiny letters on the inside of the magic band.

i'd done my full name, my nickname, and a characters name as has both of my sisters, my nieces, and my nephew.

I saw someone posting about her family's magic bands. She has started adding the dates of their trips to them. She is also compiling all of their old Magic Bands into a trip countdown chain. For special birthday trips, she has added stuff like "birthday boy" and "RunDis5K"

Almost none of ours are names or even nicknames.

For the first Half I did at WDW I had things like "keepcalm" in one band (we had a 4-resort stay) and "runon" in another. I put "yayyou" in DH's band for his first WDW 5K. The following year for my re-do of a lousy lousy sick-as-a-dog first-WDW-Half, I had "HalfRedux" in one of the bands.

While I totally believe that your TA was told that....I highly HIGHLY doubt that that was it. There's no one looking at the 9 characters we put in there. They don't care. As others have said, your actual MDE name pops up, not whatever you put in the band.

The main thing that causes funkiness with band delivery is booking through a big TA who puts their address in the MB field, and you have to change that address. So...sounds like you are a TA...was this one of your bookings? Might want to help clients understand that they need to change that address. Or was it someone talking about a previous trip booked through some places like Expedia?

Some CMs also like to say that if you have different last names it will mess things up. We have different last names. The ONLY time we have had an issue where we had to call and get the shipment unstuck was when we had booked through hotels.com and the hotels.com address was in the place of our address.

Every one of my Magic Bands has a different character name from The Jungle Book.

Mine all say Roll Tide. Though when the band is scanned, the first name associated with the MDE account is what appears on the monitor that the CM is looking at. I did it hoping to get a few more "Roll Tide" comments from CMs, but they never see it.

We've done given names, nicknames, birth dates, Anniversary dates, dates of travel etc.. Cheers

I always change my name on the inside of my magic bands! I usually do a Disney princess.. last year was Jasmine. For this trip I just changed it to my nickname.. Jennay

Ok awesome still working on the group but as its thier first time with personalized bands they really want thier name lol
I took the plunge and assigned mine Peter Pan lol
This trip I have four bands going with me two personalized yellow with my name and green with Peter
A blue band I received in the park for free
And this years party band so excited!!
