may have a chance to go and wonder is it worth it

I haven't been but I'm going to one day! I do however have a few friends that have been and the pics they brought back were amazing.

I have never been but my cousin went a few years ago with her now DH. She had a god time but yes you will see some very different things. I too would liek to go one day but aint going illegally just in case..lol. Anyway if you want to see some beautiful pics, go to Clyde Butcher's website, he is a local photographer who mainly works int he everglades but he did a cuba trip a couple (or few) years back and has some REALLY nice pics in his gallery.

btw, when my cousin went she didnt stay in a hotel she renter a local place, it was an adventure and experince, and make sure you go tot he bank to exchange your money to cuban pesos otherwise they rip you off pretty good.

I would go. There are a few ways to go legally and it's a place I find a bit fascinating. I can't wait for Castro's reign to end and it becomes an easy place to visit.

It would be a dream of my moms to get to go-- shes tried to talk me into going with her sometime. I would love to go-- and hey, I think I just might!! In my opinion all countrys are worth seeing-- just because they all have a distinct history and background that is very unique.

Never been. Unless someone normal takes over after Castro, I won't go. 90 miles from Cuba is probably the closest I'll ever get. :)

Don't smoke cigars anyway. :teeth:

I've been and it was great. Canadians don't have the same restrictions on travelling there as people in the US do.
The people are really nice and most speak English as well as other languages. You can encounter people with a lot of education and wonderful ideas as they have a great education system. You do have to avoid talking too much about politics as it can get people in trouble. Biggest frustration they have is not being able to go on short trips outside the country. If they leave, they can't come back (unless they are on an officially sanctioned trip).
If you go make sure you see more than just Havana. Just sitting somewhere people watching can be amazing.
